  • Comment removed

  • I think thats the eurostar o'r the class 395:)

  • @NE317 Probably a Class 90 or 91.

  • What type of train or locomotive was that..?

  • WoW! Moving on down the track! Great shot! If you think about it next time get a shot of the odometer. Thanks for posting!

  • For anyone wanting to know what train it is, i think its a 334, look at the reflection at 1:04

  • That's intense !

  • Anyone recognise the locations?

  • @JimTLonW6 Looks like the west coast ml and its near preston i recon. class 390 pendolino

  • how fast were u goung?

  • I love the bug guts on the windshield. The ding reminds me of that old race car game when you make it to a checkpoint.

  • I love the bug guts on the window.. Ping is the checkpoint like on that old race car game.

  • Nice view, now where;s that Class 37 Police loco?

  • @Widder23D - Perhaps you wanted to know where can you find the TV ad but records showed that this engine was 37093 and was renumbered and rebuilt as 37509 a year after its starring role. It was consigned to storage in 2002 and despite the fact that being scrapped on site at Cardiff Canton three years later, it was strangely enough not officially removed from the books until 2008.

  • The machine that goes PING!

  • Wonder how long you've been going - the windshield looks like it's got a whole lot of bugs on it.

  • If I had that job I'd soon be hypnotised and crash!

  • cool ride

  • Whereabouts is this?

  • @Inkyminkyzizwoz

Not entirely sure but it look's like Scotland as you can briefly see a class 334 in the mirror as it head's through the station.

  • I take it that this is an electric train

  • Seems like real good track. It went over those two switches very smoothly.

  • Bit dorky, but if you like this try typing in 'Ulrich Schnauss train journey' it's lovely :)

  • FUCKING GROW UP!!!

  • you don't sound the horn?

  • For what? Fun?

  • safety

  • 5 Stars! Nice Ride!

  • FANTASTIC! 5/5

  • como es que puede ir tan rapido

  • Class 334 passing through Lochwinnoch station at 90MPH on the down Ayr line.

The speed board was for the Lochwinnoch crossovers during bi-directional working.

    Happy to help.

  • That is some hella speed, and yes, it is a 334, you can see in the last station mirror... lol

  • Sad bunch of train spotters, it clearly is a class 334 'Juniper' on either the Glasgow-Ayr service or Glasgow-Largs service.

  • So it's definite that this train travels through Lochwinnoch station at some point during this video - I Google'd the station and found an image on the "RailBrit" website and it's definitely that station. It can't be an NXEC 225 (Class 91, 9x Mk4s, DVT) so I don't know what this is however the suggestion that this is a Class 334 'Juniper' would seem to be somewhat accurate - although I'm not totally sure on that.

  • UPDATE

It is definitely a Class 334 'Juniper', watching the video back confirmed this as you can see it reflecting on the station platform mirrors!

Watch the video from 1:00 and focus on the mirror located at the very end of the platform and you can clearly see the front of the Class 334.

Puzzle solved, do I get a reward now?!!!

  • What train was that?

  • Ayrshire!

  • love trains but am some how trendy too

  • How did this guy become what he is?

  • It was a joke train buff !!!

  • I think it`s a DVT

  • 0:45 Thats breaking the speed limit!

  • No it's not!

That 40mph speed limit board has an arrow below it which means it's the speed limit for using the set of points you see just after the actual speed board. Therefore, if a train was taking that set of points (crossing to the opposite line) then it would be limited to 40mph, otherwise it can maintain it's current speed under the speed limit shown at the previous line speed board.

There is a second speed board facing the other way for the other set of points.

  • This is a great video!

  • Definatly a 314 ha ha ha

  • no it aint the windowscreen wipers on a Class 314 EMU hang down from top of window! so there!!

  • It's taken from a Glasgow to Ayr or Largs train, therefore probably a class 334. These and class 318's operate here. Station passed through is Lochwinnoch. There are other vid's from this route elsewhere on yt.

  • the aws tells me it could be a 360

  • Something tells me that this is a GNER/NXEC Class 91 Electric. Engine noise in background perhaps and cab windows etc is sloped. Also note the dirty cab window lol it's a common thing to notice on the 91s with bug splats, etc, etc.

    I'm confident that I'm right.

  • No, from the shape of the window, it has a gangway through the cab, meaning it could be a class 317

  • Nope, wind screen wiper is in the wrong place to even be a 317. My mate reckons it could be a 360 so meaning this would be on the Great Eastern Main Line (GEML) but personally I'm still thinking it's a Class 91 on East Coast Main Line.

  • ah yes, the beep in the cab of the aws suggest so too

  • by the way on the railways we say yellow sgnals not amber!

  • jimmabean:- what about three reds??...why stop at having two :) ..I say we have one red light which blinks to the tune of the can can...with the two yellows doing the bababababababa

  • hahaha well i guess three reds mean there is the track you are on plus two others that go off in different directions, meaning STOP lol.

or if you had a red, yellow, and red again, it would be diverging approach meaning that you would go on the "second track"

  • When you're traveling this fast, this is when you want to make sure there are no idiots on the ROW :-). Great video.

  • Excellent video

  • weeeeeeeeeee , very fast!

  • please correct me,

one green light means clear ahead

one yellow light means proceed with caution

two yellow means start to brake

one red means stop and wait

if there is a two red stop with emergancy brakes

    please reply me comment!

    Thank you nice clip!

  • no!

  • Ok, far as i know,

Green means line is clear, proceed.

two yellow, means the next signal is one yellow.

one yellow means the next signal is red.

    red means stop.

However, the signals can change by the time the driver gets there so may go from yellow, to green, or stay at single yellow. It depends on what is in front.

  • Correct. I had to learn that when I played BVE lol

  • one green means clear

one yellow means proceed prepared to stop at next signal

two yellows means approach diverging i believe, not too sure

one red means stop before any part of train or engine passes signal mast

and two reds also mean stop before any part of the train passes

  • @jimmabean two yellows is just a warning that the next signal is yellow. Two yellow and one yellow can mean a diversion but they have to be flashing to indicate that. Also I've only ever heard of two reds on shunt or calling on signals, am I right in saying you only get two reds on the normal aspect after SPADs? Please enlighten me, I've not heard of this before

  • AWS Automatic Warning System. If the bell (ping) the signal at that location is green, if the horn sounds you must cancel the warning within 3sec otherwise the brakes apply. horn sounds at Double yellow, Yellow, Red signals. Also fitted to Temporary and Emergency speed restrictions and some permenant speed restrictions.

  • no if it pings it means tea's ready

  • @LeamingtonSteve They drink too much tea, unless they prepare it for the whole train.

  • your all rong the aws is the auto warning system telling u its a green if its a continues beep it means caution (yellow signal)

  • If it pings it means the next signal is showing a green, If it chimes but needs the driver to press the plunger to cancel the warning then the next signal is either showing a caution, or a Red, alerting the driver to start slowing down.

  • wa does that little ding me

    ?

  • green sigmal. a 'beep' is a red or amber signal

  • wow looks like a fun job......nice clip!

  • @marrison13 It's fun for about a week. Managers ruin it quick.

  • @marrison13 fun yes dangerous yes invincible depends

  • is it a hull trains pioneer?

  • sure is lochwinnoch

  • what train is it?

  • Lochwinnoch

  • Time flies by by when you're the driver of a train and you ride on the footplate there and back again.

  • Where is this, by the way? My guess would be N/B through Alnmouth on the ECML, but that's just a guess. Nice video in any case.
