I do not condone whaling because as i said in the beginning whales& dolphins have higher consciousness, so it is like killing an elephant or lion for food. it is barbaric. The cetaceans also work to improve the planet & hold the planetary grid in place, but thats probably a bit advanced for most people to comprehend. The japanese eat all kinds of rare endangered creatures which is outright wrong, but by the sounds of it u would be ok with foetus soup !

While I'm neutral on the issue, you need to understand that the Japanese are in the same category as the indigenous people of Alaska and parts of Canada who can hunt whales on a quota system; you are saying Japanese shouldn't be allowed to do the same thing, why is that?

It does not matter whether what is there is alive or not. But in Japanese, what you are mentioning as existing is alive, you say "いる" not "ある" You shoud say ”カンガルーがいる". By the way if you want protest whaling for animal cruelty reason, you should not kill any animal. Otherwise you are not trusted.

That is maybe a number that can be hunt with a small number of whaling ships. But "a large number" of whales for Westerners means a number that meet their need as source of energy of the whole society. That is numbers that about 1000 whaling ships can hunt arounf the world.

It all comes down to this: how could Japan feed its population with whale meat using only 28 whaling ships in 1908, being the time when Japan started to modernize its whaling. Before 1908 there was even less capacity. Everything points to this: whaling is NOT Japan's tradition. It is a local tradition of some towns.

With that I agree. If the people of Taiji want to continue hunting whales in small ships, using spears, close to Japan, I say let them!
But not close to the South Pole, with harpoons with explosives, for "research".
