  • @BeyondBracelets Question: When someone asks you to make them a bracelet and you can't remember how, do you refer to your own tutorials? XD

  • @DonutsInDisguise Haha... no not really. It's much easier for me to look at the grids.

  • I don't understand when you are supposed to do backward or foward knot !

  • @TheMakeuphair The instructions are in the description.

  • I mixed up the order somewhere along the way, and I'm pretty far along and reaaally don't want to start over ): is there any way to figure out what messed you up? ive been untying the little knots and retying for like an hour and i don't know what I did wrong.

  • @xokristeenuhox Yikes... well... What I usually do is look at each set of knots and try to find the one that messed up the pattern. This bracelet has pretty straight lines so it should be relatively simple to figure out what went wrong. If you can't figure it out upload a picture of it to tinypic(dot)com and send me the link in my inbox, I might be able to help you out.

  • you are a great braclet maker do you sell them just wondering

  • @ssopch I don't sell many/make many anymore. I used to but then I started to get carpal tunnel and now I pretty much make the tutorials only. It's okay for small scale like in the videos when I just do one repeat of the bracelet but making a full bracelet kills me these days. =x

  • LOL, I have watched almost all of your videos and have never thought to subscribe until you demanded it so... I am gunna subscribe :) (I messed up this bracelet like 20 times!!!!)

But thank you so much for all your beautiful patterns.

  • @dominiquehunter23 Haha, it's okay. I forget to hit that button sometimes as well.

  • i can see and hear perfectly fine, maybe it is just your computer volume

  • i love all ur videos ur amazing

  • Turn your camera to manual focus because it's blurry!

  • @andriusign It was a very old digital camera that wasn't meant for filming and was very bad. It didn't even have manual focus. I just bought a new camcorder, it works better.

  • can u spaeak more clear i can bearl understand u.

  • @mackigallie2100 This was my old camera and the audio and video was awful. Check my new videos. If it's not good there either then perhaps it's my accent. Can't help that.

  • i really like this pattern! i love all ur vids ur really AMAZING at this! :D

  • Hey great video. I was wondering there is a thinner version of this ??

  • @LPchick15 Check the pattern link in the video description... on the site there are 'similar patterns' below the main one I linked to. Just look for one in there with fewer strands. If you need help on reading the grids I have a video "How to read patterns on friendship-bracelets(dot)net"

  • τελειο!! το εφτιαξα!!

  • @lazakid Είμαι ευτυχής που θα μπορούσε να βοηθήσει!

  • do you have a video with alternative chevron??if u don`t,can you make one,pplz?

  • is this pattern 532 on fb.net ???

  • @CookiMilki Yeah. It appears so. I added it to the description.

  • @BeyondBracelets what if you dont want 3 colours? like if you want 7 rainbow colours how do you do it?

  • @CookiMilki If you want it to still look braided you'd need a different pattern. If you don't care about order then just put the strings randomly.

  • Comment removed

  • I just want to comment that you are one AMAZING bracelet weaver! I didn't think that I could do this but watching these videos has shown me that I can. Thank you so much!!!

  • hey i really love your vidoes but if u would like can u cheak out mine braclet and beond

  • OK so if u go like left u do forward knot and if u go right its backward knot?

  • @Jassy101Ms Heading right is forward, heading left is backward. It's just like reading.

  • @michonkey I tried to watch it as best as I could 10:25 seems to be the repeat point.

  • Lisa...so sorry u had problems with your editing...i enjoyed ur video. I want to thank you too for introducing me to friendship bracelet.net.....

  • @EzaVelox Go to my YT Channel and then to the "New To Bracelets? Click!" link on my channel banner. There's a video on two methods of starting & finishing them which also shows how to wear them.

  • how to wear it cuz i've been selling it to my friends.

  • this is exactly the pattern i was looking for but i didn't want it in a 1212 pattern..

  • @K8e92 It was just easier to do it this way. I've been noticing people like the 1212 ones better and seem to be less confused. Sorry it wasn't what you needed, if you want to you can find the pattern by looking up "braid" on friendship-bracelets(dot)net.

  • @BeyondBracelets It's quite alright, I've decided instead to make the stripes with hearts bracelet which is equally cute. :)

  • what do you mean by like add another string to the pile 60 inches long?

only because its like an odd number? :/

    please hellpp!

  • @beaversRlegit You do the long strands and fold them, then cut an extra string as long as the folded strands are (not a full strand) and add it into the folded mix... knot it and you will have an odd number.

  • @BeyondBracelets

oh, okay thanks so much! :D

  • I love this bracelet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How do you keep track of what row your on?

  • @TheRjs54 You can print the directions and use a little sticky bookmark and move it as you go... or if you are using a pattern from friendship-bracelets(dot)net I use a minimized window to drag down as I complete a row to expose the next.

  • @BeyondBracelets Thanks!!

  • @TheRjs54 Not sure if I answered this or not but...

To keep track of the row I usually use a spare window on my computer (like MS Paint minimized to become a line across the screen- then I drag it below the row I'm on like an underline. Of course this only helps if you're using a computer... so if you aren't the best bet is to actually write down the number.

  • greaat videoo! my bracelet is perfect but i've got a question... how do you make to tie them up after?

  • @28gabs Check my video on "how to start & finish friendship bracelets" you can find it by clicking "New To Friendship Bracelets? Click HERE!" on my channel banner.

  • i asked you a question earlier, on how you keep your clipboard from moving around, and now id like to know how you position your camera?

:D im considering making videos myself, and im not sure how to film without being awkward while filming

    please answer!

  • @jhullyo96 I have a video on that, just look up "beyondbracelets - your common questions answered" and it's at the end of the video.

  • Plz...Do NOT Talk ALOT!!!!!

  • @gurlzforevah755 If you dislike the talking fast forward to where it stops. Dragging that awesome little button across the screen will help you avoid all of my helpful tips and other useful information. When you realize you are too confused to continue make sure to refer back to the beginning of the video.

I'm here to teach. Teaching means I talk. If you hate talking perhaps learn to look at patterns and you won't need to learn from videos where people tend to do that talking thing. =3

  • @BeyondBracelets great comeback for real :D

  • I am really confused. You change up how many FK and BK you do alot of times... how do i know when to change?, or is it different than i assume?

  • @callmeJakeyyHD The changes is the pattern. They are written in the video description. Click "SHOW MORE" it even has the lengths.

  • Oh and at the end the bracelet you had already made seemed extremely small.. what are the measurements for one that will go around my wrist and have a little extra string? sorry for all the questions.

  • @callmeJakeyyHD I use less for videos because it's very hard to work with the full length on cam. I only use about 35 inches for my videos (folded in half) but what you use for a normal bracelet is 65 (folded in half)

  • What knot do you use ? my english is bad :( sorry

  • @GRoxoification Look For " How To Make Friendship Bracelets - The Four Types of Knots " and you will see.

  • @BeyondBracelets that seems hard to remember

  • @squirttle100 The four types of knots aren't that hard to remember... you just need to practice.

  • I've tried making bracelets without a loom but the strings always go all over the place so I always end up using a loom. What is that fuzzyish surface that you make your bracelets on???

  • @deedledo12 Look up "BeyondBracelets Felted Clipboard" on YT search and you should see the tutorial.

  • ok thanks, i've tried a couple times and now it looks good! thanks so much, im definetly subscribing

  • @erbboarder and do u have any simple, easy patterns that would be good for making really thick bracelets with?(besides the chevron and stripe)

  • @erbboarder Hm... There is the DOUBLE chevron... and the diamond pattern (purple and blue icon in intermediate section) is also pretty thick.

  • your so amazing at making bracelets!!! and how do u get ur nots so even? mine get all bunched up( well...sometimes)

  • @erbboarder It's a lot like crochet, you need to use the same tension always otherwise the knot sizes will vary.

  • Can you do this with 5 different colors?

  • @dodobird35 The pattern would change.

  • This was SO confusing!!

I dident know what i was doing! Im not good with Odd & Even.

    So i failed /:

Oh & btw i LOVE the heart video you made :D is there any way you can make the bracelet thicker?

  • @AwkwardAllyson You could just write it down and highlight the odd ones so you remember. You could make bracelets thicker and maybe eventually I can get to "how to join patterns" and teach people how to make things wider and stuff like that.

  • Is there any way to make a friendship bracelet (candy stripe) with >15 craft thread?

  • @iSpeakKonglish Candy stripes can be 100 strings if you wanted them to be. You just need to add more length the more strands you add in. The first 6to10 or so strands need about 65" then every extra 5 strands needs about another 5" on top of the base of 65".

  • @BeyondBracelets What.......Damn. I tried making one with 15 strands but the length wasn't a problem. My bracelet was turning into a circle...(I don't know how else to explain it) and I wasn't even half way through. Do you know what I mean?

  • @iSpeakKonglish Circle... It was curling up to a 'rope' or was the pattern bowing inward on some sections and outward on others? I'm not sure what you mean exactly since people describe things differently than I would most of the time... so maybe if you can send a picture I could diagnose the issue better. (Tinypic*dot*com for uploading it and then send to my inbox.)

  • @BeyondBracelets Aww. I already destroyed it. But it's like this: Imagine a Chinese fan. There are 2 straight edges and a curved edge. Now imagine more material being added to the 2 straight edges. That's what my bracelet was turning into (a "circle").

  • @iSpeakKonglish At the very beginning of the bracelet or randomly throughout the entire thing? It sounds crazy... lol.

  • @BeyondBracelets The beginning haha

  • @iSpeakKonglish Okay... Well then that is normal. The knots take a bit of time to settle so the first few rows will be quite awkward. The reason mine is just 'straight' is because I tried not to pull all the way up to the knot since it would bunch up and I didn't want people to think that the pattern was off.

  • @BeyondBracelets OOH ok. I was pulling on the knot so that it wouldn't be loose. I don't know. I may not do as many strings just to avoid making the candy stripe too loose.

  • Haha! I love how u handle the stupid & rude comments lol~ You're awesome & you are very much appreciated by MANY... Ugh the ignorance & pettiness of some people :/

  • @kmccann76 Well, since I was in Jersey (a hop, skip and jump away from NYC, even) I'm not really afraid of rudeness- After all, being from Jersey means that I can be equally (or more) rude when I have a reason to be.

Anyway, I'm very aware so many people are appreciative and I'm pretty sure those who aren't are just angry at me for not being able to teach them my entire 15 years of my knowledge in one single video. Some actually think I just started making bracelets yesterday. It's quite funny.

  • how do you know when to make a backward or forward knot?

  • @cliveloveshop You follow patterns. You can find patterns on friendship-bracelets(dot)net or Heather's Friendship Bracelets Site... or even in books at the art store/library/wherever.

  • This helped sooo much! I learn all my bracelets from you =)

  • you make this look so simple but im starting to get the hang of it (:

  • @lillylove789 Haha, I try to make it simple. I've been doing it a long time (15 years now) so it's pretty second nature to me. I started out making candy stripes (horribly) and just progressed. Practice does indeed make perfect.

  • i CANT DO IT! I TRIED BUT IT LOOKED LIKE A BIG TIED BALL OG YARN. LITTERALY. =( AND NO I WILL NOT SUNBCRIBE BECUASE OF MY WASTED YARN!

  • @555erasercollector Eh, if you tied it you could have used my other video on making a loom to keep the strands in order. That said... you don't have to subscribe.

  • @555erasercollector just to say beyondbracelets is awesome and she uses embroidery floss in her videos so you should use that instead of yarn....your fault

  • @555erasercollector you dont use yarn!!

  • is there any way to double the thickness of it? how many strings do you leave out?

  • @ddeegs Leave out...? I'm guessing you mean make it double as in thicker strings... or do you mean double as in an attached version like the double chevron?

  • Its FORward...not FOward

  • @bargrrr I type it properly and I know how to spell it. I said FORWARD but my accent makes it sound differently. I'm originally from Jersey, I can't help it.

  • @bargrrr don't be mean

  • @tbballstar22 I laughed at his comment. No worries.

I'm from Jersey originally... we slur words and it makes it sound funny sometimes... besides- if I said foRRRward (with a hard R instead of the soft one I use) it would constantly sound like I was golfing. =/

  • So how do I end my bracelet? Two braids and tie it back to the loop?

  • @numra25 Yep, two braids and stick one through the loop- then tie the two braids.

  • So 30in each correct?

  • @Artsyfultastic If you're making it without a loop you'll need more, but yeah. Once it's folded it should be 30 inches down from the initial 60 you started with.

  • I'm SOOOO confused! How long is each string??

  • Thanks for posting all these great tutorials! Yours are definitely easy to understand, and you seem to be a lot more knowledgeable than many others. I also appreciate the trouble shooting videos, as I have already been able to improve my technique from those!

  • @hautelunch You are very welcome. As for the knowledge... that comes with time. I've been making these bracelets for 15 years so if I didn't have some knowledge by now I'd be pretty pathetic. lol.

  • Can you make more please!!!!! can u make a patteren with a smileyface????

  • @skippy2744 I'm waiting on a new camera and a better set up.

My tripod makes tutorials very painful to make and I've been trying to avoid them for the meantime... Right now I'm having to hug a tripod while doing these/twisting my back awkward to try to work around it... with only about 5 inches from cam to board for my hands so yeah- Not yet.

This time next month I should be set up better, though. I'm hoping it will help me make these bracelets even faster/neater looking on camera.

  • so whatever strand is paired with blue is a backward knot?

  • @Viewit39 No. The knots are constantly changing. You can't depend on the string color. You need to look at the string position/placement. Here: watch?v=apTAygZ910A

  • What happens if you don't knot every string twice but just once?

  • @Sara5029 It won't look like little "bubbles" in the pattern... it will just look like a mess. The second knot is what keeps the shape and keeps it in place- without it it would be like knotting a shoelace.

  • @BeyondBracelets Oke thank you:)

  • this video is just amazing!! you like the only person who's braided stitch video i could follow along with so thank you so much!!

  • @WhatYouLove203 You're welcome.

  • the video wont play!!!!

  • @nwa1291 I don't know why. The video isn't corrupt... Maybe try going to your internet browser's 'Tools' section and delete the cookies.... it might help things run better.

On firefox it will be under "Tools - Clear Recent History"

if you're on Internet Explorer you do "Tools - Internet Options - General - Clear History"

Clearing the history and cookies should fix everything. If you use something other than that just look up "how to clear the cookies/history of --internet browser name--"

  • Could you do a mustache bracelet tutorial? The alpha version? I'm having trouble getting it right for some reason...

  • @PeAcElOvEaNdJeLlY I can't do alphas. My set up makes it way too difficult.

  • very nice bracelet, I have done one and doing another one, but I would like to know which thread you use ? They look very colorful and strong and the one I use are wool and they aren't that good as your one's so can you please tell me what kind of thread you are using.. ??? Thanks for the Pattern...

  • @jinobodh36 "Your Common Questions Answered" video in my help section (found on my channel) covers the string types.

  • this is one of my fav bracelets to make!

  • not to be rude at all but r u a boy or girl?

  • @beachmonkey382 Neither.

I'm 23 so I think that classifies me in the 'woman' category.

  • Your tutorials are excellent! So much easier to follow along with than other videos, thanks!

  • this is probally one of my favorites stitches!!=)

  • @5k3tcHy64 it's so cute!! :)

  • When i do this pattern i always have mistakes and 60 inches are 152 cm, isnt that soo much?

  • @MsSmiley357 "Mistakes" is too broad of a term, describe them.

As for the length... 60 to 65 inches is required. You are welcome to cut down the length as you see fit but you will be looking at something the length of a keychain in the end.

But yeah, If you'd like to try using less you'll soon find out how much string knots use up and it will confirm the fact you need a lot- Also keep in mind you're folding these strings in half so the 65" is actually 32" of usable string on each side.

  • @BeyondBracelets About length thanks cuz i reallly didint think that we need to use that much. Thanks for answering! :)

About mistakes when im at the end it doesnt look like yours it looks way diffferent and i know there is mistakes but what mistakes i just cant understand cuz im still begginer.

  • @MsSmiley357 If you can send me a picture that would help, then. I am not able to visualize what could be going wrong unless I actually see it or have a good description of what is going on.

Did you watch my beginner videos on how to make the knots? I'm assuming you might not be making them properly, that or you're pulling them way too loose/tight. Watch my beginner videos and try a more simple pattern with fewer strings before trying something with this many strands.

  • hi! i really want to make this bracelet but i can't figure out how to do the loop for the top when there are strings that aren't folded over. can you tell me how you did it?

  • @violinistgirl13 Fold the strings that are supposed to be folded then cute the extra strings to the size of the strings that are folded (half the long length) then you just hold them all together, the looped and the loose, and just tie them. You'll have little extra threads mixed in with the loop.

  • thank you very much :) i`l subscribe you`. Ur great !!!!! it works !! mine is with black/ light brown /purple . ... i tried to do this model using some other videos , but it was worthless. you`re doing a great job wth this videos .

    Keep it up . u rulle :]

  • There is an easier way to make this pattern! But I think it's better to read the patterns row by row for beginners in videos. Keep making tutorials :)

  • @janynutza123 It was my first time making the pattern and since it was a request I filled it regardless of knowing the "shortcut" for it.

Unfortunately, I don't always find the shortcut (even if I try) since it's literally my first time making the bracelet and I haven't had time to really study it.

  • @BeyondBracelets ok :)

  • hey can you make a tutorial for a bracelet with smiley faces?

  • hows did u add a video that has 20 min!?

  • @janynutza123 Youtube enabled me to upload videos longer than 15 minutes a while back- not sure why or how. Maybe because they felt my tutorials were helpful? Who knows.

  • @BeyondBracelets I tried it, it works! Thank you. (:

  • @Julieex3333 Glad it worked and you're welcome!

  • Your videos are so great. I discovered your channel the day before yesterday, & I've done 4 different bracelets already! You're the best. (: But I was wondering. If I were to make the bracelet thicker, for every 2 strings I add, (there are 8, not including the one you actually do knots with) do I add a FK and a BK to every step? I've thought about it. It seems like it would work, but I'm not suree. Answer me, please? :DDD Thanksss.

  • @Julieex3333 I'm not sure either but you could go to friendship-bracelets (dot) net and try out their pattern generator to see if it would work out.

You just click the little dots on top of the strings to choose the color, then you just click each individual knot bubble to switch which direction the knot goes. It'd be easier to see if the pattern would work on the grid (and faster) than trying to make it in practice.

    Good luck!

  • Love your videos! I'm going to try all of them!

Keep up the good work, and thank you! :)

  • @stephaniejesss7 Good luck on them, if you have any problems feel free to send a private inbox message. ♥

  • @manchest3r18 I do believe you are right. Haha.

Yeah, you could just repeat from step 6. I don't know why I didn't catch that- I guess when I was editing the pattern I hadn't noticed the repeat was so close to the beginning! Thanks for letting me know- I'll edit the description for everyone!

  • I love your vids! your like the only person out there that there videos make sense

  • @jellybellyjubejube Aw, thanks! Well, I'm glad I am able to help so many of you!

  • no bc my strings were only messed up bc of the arrangement..like the ones on the left were supposed to be on the right but then they got messsed up...:(

  • @xoxoiloveyouxoxo21 I'm not sure what went wrong but if you go to friendship-bracelets (dot) net you can look up Pattern #532 for the braid pattern and try following it by that if you want.

Some people will not benefit from my tutorials or written directions- I didn't really want to make this pattern due to it being a bit confusing... but since someone requested it I decided to anyway.

Sorry you're confused- try friendship-bracelets (dot) net - perhaps the pattern grid will help you out a bit.

  • THIS ISSSSSSS SOOOOOOOO CONFUSING MY STRINGS WERE ALL MESSED UP!!!!!!!! *sorry for the caps

  • @xoxoiloveyouxoxo21 Well, it depends on how new you are to it.

Did you use the cardboard loom like I showed in my beginner tutorials?

  • The fish bracelet? I haven't seen that one so I'll try that one out. And yes I have also seen stars in the alpha patterns but I havent encouraged myself to do those yet. I love the patterns but I'm going to do all yours first at least 3 times each to lock in the pattern then challenge myself a little further. I have already done your rainbow arrowhead, dainty diamonds, and I'm doing the big x and little x now. I messed up so I had to start over. But thanks that would be awesome if you can come

  • Hi there! I love all your bracelet designs!!! ANd your videos are so helpfull!!! I have a clipboard and a cardboard with the little lines cut out at the bottom to help me keep my strings in order :) i was wondering if you can or if you know how to make a bracelet with bows? or even the cancer ribbons... and maybe also some stars? ive seen other videos but yours are so much better to follow! Keep making more! :)

  • @mtink413 I've seen the "fish" bracelet which is very similar to the ribbons, but I've really never seen stars done except for alphabet patterns- that said I'll see what I can do. I'll try playing around with patterns and see if I can make a custom star one for you!

  • Great tutorial. I personnaly do my braid-celets :P with 4 strings of each colors so the cuttings of the strings isn't odd. I love that kind of bracelet, keep up the good work i really like your videos!

  • @Roxixane456 Braid-celets. That was a cute pun. =D

I also like making patterns with even number strings when I can (it makes things easier) but since this was a request I decided to make it exactly as the tutorial had it written out.

Believe it or not the bracelet example that I held up in the beginning was the first one I ever tried to make with this pattern- so I guess I did okay!

Anyway, Thanks for the sweet comment!
