Everyone says that Windows is for more intense stuff while Mac is just for photo editing and stuff... That's why Mac came out with the first production 8-core computer, and it can easily support 32GB of RAM! I've only seen one 8-core PC and it was custom built. Also, on a Mac, you can install Windows in Boot Camp if needed, but you can't put Mac on a Windows. Also, Vista destroys memory! If you have Vista, downgrade to XP or get a Mac!

Guess what you dumbass? 64bit Windows 7 supports way more than 32gb of RAM. My mobo can support 32gb as well. But for me I think thats overkill.

Mac pros are made with 8 cores so you actually can have up to 32GB of RAM rather than just "being able to handle it". They have 32GB of RAM with 8 x 4GB RAM cards. Most PCs are made with 2 cores, most newer ones have 4 cores at the most. Mac Pros have 8 cores... Do the math.

the Mac Pro is a workstation, using workstation hardware (xeon processors, ECC Ram etc.) Workstations aren't most PC's and tend to cost a couple of thousand or more.

A PC with the same hardware (2 quad core Xeons) will also run 32GB of Ram.

What I want to know is does the Mac pro come with a true 64 bit OSX? otherwise it's pointless having 32GB on a workstation that can only address 4GB per application.

Mac Pros are workstations, not desktops. There are plenty of 8-core workstations running Windows available from HP, Dell and others.

What?? computers have been running over 8 cores for years. you're average high performance server has 4-Quad core Xeons (16 cores total) and around 96Gb of Ram.

But multi cores at that level are useless in workstations because applications dont use the all 16 cores. So they are purely for servers where multitasking is far more important than single high intensity tasks.

After booting up XP (Which is the only version that runs okish) natively, either using Boot Camp or Even on top of Mac OS X using Parralels or Crossover, (Seems though some (not to many nowadays) developers are still arrogant enough to maybe develop a filetype that Mac can't read, (Again, a endangered species, this filetype)) she gets that file dealt with, and of course, a Mac is the thing that runs Windows fastest, meaning that the files dealt with in seconds ;P
