The artist started his painting after his village was demolished to "clean up" his area for the olympics. Therefore knowing how it all started, I think his true outcry is we are loosing who we are for the sake of more aesthetically pleasing, new ideas. We are selling our soul, who we really are, throwing away our way of life and fading into the background, no longer being individuals. We do it every day in America, I think this is what he is trying to convey. We our individuality is disappearing
