  • Woah! Geisha play Kabuki music as well? This song I believe is Musume Dojoji. From a kabuki play of a snake-woman who falls in love with a Buddhist monk.

  • sono nata nel posto sbagliato, dovevo essere giapponese :( <3

  • When I showed this to my mother, she gave me a long look and than asked if I knew what they were singing. Do you need to know the words to enjoy the song?

  • oh wow, this is so Inspiring, what a wonderful wonderful Video :) :)

  • beautiful

  • i'm not italian i want be japanese!!:(

  • Question: Every time i see videos like this, it is always filled with people fascinated by japan. Where did this fascination with Japanese culture start for you guys?

  • The music and song have significant charm for higher level listener albeit everybody has own taste.

  • i can't appreciate this.... :(

  • This is authentic music!

  • I liked the music but not the singing, sorry. And I really don't like the one with the drum. I think the prettiest is the one on flute

  • id simply request dance instead of this terrible sounding music

  • OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HUUUUUUU KAAAANEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

So beautiful. especially with the instruments that don't match up with one another, just gorgeous.

  • Geisha <3 I'm fascinated by this world <3

  • How truly cacaphonic...

  • They didn't need aircraft at Pearl...this would sink any battleship.

  • this song is like death metal

  • @dimcao LOL SO TRUE HAHAHA

  • My cat ran away when she heard this.

  • Thank you kindly for posting such interesting art for us to enjoy!

  • lol am i the only one who thinks this is stupid? srry some ppl might like it but i just think it's stupid(no id didn't search for this my friend send me a link of stupid music)

  • @MrJahikdus Stupid is a strong word. Just because you don't enjoy something doesn't make it stupid. For instance, if i were a foriegner and didn't like America, would that make it ok for me to say that America is a trash dump full of slobs? Please think about your word choices next time, for you sake and the sake of others.

  • sounds like 3 year olds playing with instruments

  • Isnt that msusume dojoji theyre singing?

  • what kind of drum is that in the middle. they small one on her shoulder

  • Does anyone understand the movements though?

  • @lateblossom the Japanese are very meticulous especially with the body movements involved in any of their art form.

  • 最高!

  • i wish i waz 1 ever since i saw memoirs of a geisha -sigh- but gawd knoz that'll never happen. BUT im still happy 2 sit and watch otherz :D

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • i want to be a geisha and i liked most of it apart from the bit that hurt my ears but everythingels was nice

  • awesome. thanks for posting.

  • i love this

  • i'm not asian but i just find the culture so fascinating it is something different

  • the shameful thing is that most Asians who really know about their heritage and how an Asians life really is (despite the media's influence) really want to be something else... sad but true. =!

  • there's nothing shameful. there's tons of americans or europeans who really want to be something else too.

  • @U2burlar

Just like westeners who want to be japanese

  • im half japanese and i look NOTHING like an asian / japanese. but stil, im absoulutley fascinated with japanese culture.

  • very japanese, in very primal form

  • i wish i was full asian... im only 1/8th it sucks

  • Be happy with who you are, you don't need to be asian to enjoy the culture. :)

  • @Nekorin I agree with you. Plus Asians(Especially the Japanese in World War II) have their dark side just like anyone else dose.

  • i think i was born wonr, i think i should have been asian

  • LOL same here, my friends always say to me, you MUST have been asian or something!

  • thats funny ! but so true!

    i wish i was Asian !!

  • I wish i were from Japan =(

  • @atzenschwesta me too!!!

  • awesome

  • I love This!

  • Thanks ! :D

  • I've got 2 questions: What 2 flutes was the geiko on the right playing? And what about the 2 drums: which one was a ko-tsuzumi and which was a tsuzumi, if that's what they were at all?

  • My history class is putting on a play involving geisha; 36option26, this and other geisha-related videos you've put up are helping us along! Thanks so much for posting them! ^^

  • I think that's the first time I've seen geisha play instruments center stage and in full make-up. Thank you for sharing.
