I never even knew you could change Shutter speed, aperture, or ISO on point and shoots xD lmfao. Well I knew you could, but I didn't think there was much of a range at all. Not from any of the ones I owned lol
hrm, my friend wants me to shoot photos for her fasion show in a few days, but i've never used a dslr before, but im pretty quick with any sort of technology once i've played around with it for 10 mins.
i suggest you stay on "auto" ...just adjust some settiing like the focus and flashes. this way you can stay with your focus on your friend instead of other people of object. some of this tuts are for non moving objects or daylight shots. but if you and your friends are indoors... stay on auto. goodluck.
In a brigh daylight it's not that much difference between pictures taken with a compact and a DSLR, right? I mean, I wouldn't be able to tell a difference. Also, why do you need the mirror and prism mechanism (or rangefinder for that matter) if you can "see" with the sensor? I mean, with film, you can't see with the film, so you need those mirrors to view through the lens. But with digital, you don't really need that. I think that Micro Four-Thirds standard finally got it right.
There are many many many things you can't do with a ps camera. Just take at look at the tech spec on the optics of the lens on your ps camera. They are really only good for taking wide pictures. Also, the sensore in a ps camera is TINY and creates a lot of noise, especially in low light.
@regionalsaint ...you must be an idiot...i highly doubt that you knew how to use your dslr when you first got it...its people like you that make pictures worse because your negativity spreads through others
wow dude! 5 stars! great tutorial! i even saw ur flickr! theyr amazing! especially for a newbie like me... please put up more vids and do explain the jargon and what they do... aperture, shutter speed, focal point etc... would be great if you could demonstrate everything man!

What's the word on a DSLR vs. a Bridge camera such as the Canon SX10IS?
rml695 3 years ago
Bigger sensor = less noise, greater dynamic range and better control over depth of field.
It's all about image quality vs. convenience.
