This is gorgeous. I love all the Howard and SDA version on youtube, but mercy, the bass in this rendition is... mercy! More choirs need bass. God bless this man and the choir and anyone who comes in touch with this song!
@ISingGospel after listening again, well like three times..........I conquer, i can tell the michs were adjusted......choir did a great job. Just really took me a minute to let that soprano go....lol but they were awesome!
Im so sorry, that soprano in the mic, is sort of draggin the tune of the choir down slowly....if this was accapello you they would def be in a different key upon ending the song.
@mrAdonisMusic She was dragging but she wasn't necessarily the real problem was the audio. I truly feel the choir sounded great, but I feel that the microphones were not balanced. That may have been why that particular soprano was so loud, and notice that the tenors and the altos were faint. Then once the choir went full voice, it seems as if the volume on the mics were drastically brought down and then you can barely hear the choir at all and then the instruments seemed to drown them out.
This choir did an awesome job.......the bass section shined through.....but someone is singing directly in the mic in the soprano section and are tending to be a just a tad bit flat wit a lil too much vibrato...listen from point 1:30 to 2:30. But they are awesome
Ya know... I really love this arrangement. And I agree that the quality of the Howard and SDA renditions were better. I particularly like the high note on the SDA version. ...but I have to say that I felt the power on THIS one. I love the point and meaning of this song period - a soul recognizing how undeserving he/she is of the blessings of God but crying out to God Almighty for mercy. So, no matter who sings it, to God be ALL - and do mean ALL - the glory.
I love the song, but i fell the best version was by the tri city sda choir. i say this it was they sounded more like the way that song should have been. they had control, but they also had power also.
@reaves651 - I have to agree with you there. The TriCity SDA choir NAILED it! My scalp was tingling and prickling, hairs standing up, goose bumps all over. This version does not do it. As much as I LOVE the Howard version - even THEY couldn't deliver the same way.
In my opinionn as a tenor and as a choral music major and gospel music minor it was legato there werent many variation in dynamics the beauty of the song quickly created a monotonious effect that became simplistic at best..the current howard gospel choir director did much better things with this piece
@tenor12009.....I very much agree with you. Pat Lundy created this version, but Howard did a much better job. But to God be the glory. If it touched and ministered to someone it has served it's purpose.
@kadavila -obviously our audio systems are emitting different sounds waves, yes I do hear that one soprano voice protuding over others, but by no means can it be classified as being flat, if she is flat, then give me a entire section of them for any singing group.
@ajthroback -no! I was saying my audio is not picking up any so called flat soprano period, just heavenly beautiful vocals from start to finish of the song.
@shadhom I agree, as a soprano and the sound I here is as you said 'just heavenly beautiful vocals' Awesomely smooth. I love this song. Patrick is great.
my college choir got to sing this song with them, talk about an awesome experience

Don't let that one flat soprano ruin the song for you. I guarantee they didn't sound that way live.

Lord I hear of showers of blessings
Thou art scarttering full & free
Showers the thirsty souls refreshing
Let some drops now fall on me
Even Me, Lord Even Me
Let some drop now fall on me.
The words come from an old traditional hymn.
