  • Janis is the best of the best! Forever 27! No one can top that voice!

you'll always have a place in my home n heart!

  • Happy Birthday Today ~ Miss you. 1/19/12

  • Makes me feel kind of sad, the fact there's not more than five of us hippies in my town...

  • hey, just wondering how this legend died?

  • this song is so good for so many reasons.a class of her own and i doubt will be bettered in my lifetime

  • Lightning in a bottle. That is what this song is. Kris created a truly brilliant anthem for many generations and did it in a voice that touches the soul. The flexibility of gender that he wrote was brilliant. He can sing it, and Janice can sing it, and each version makes total sense. Thanks, Kris.

  • Do you recall the first time you heard this song? I working my way thru college at a bar in Ypsilanti, MI, and this was on the juke box. I played it every chance I got. I cried the first time I heard it 40 years ago and I'm crying now for Janis and for me. Love you Janis!

  • none before and none after...only Janis!

  • Great song and greatest singer ever. The song changed my life when I was young. Kris Kristofferson and Janis Joplin! WOW!

  • greatest female blues vocal of all time!! R.İ.P.

  • Who's playin the Git(u)ar?. Janice?..

  • Rare treat!..THANKS.

  • freedom is just another world for nothing left to lose..

  • I love this version. Yep, the Texas twang is there as she's tuning. I saw a Kristofferson interview where he talks about not knowing she recorded it for Pearl until after she had died.

  • no one can sing it like janis there close and are some good trys but just not like her love this song

  • beautiful

  • MY fav of all time ...

  • Oh how i miss her!

  • Janis's only Diva in the world

  • LOVE this version... made my day. Thanks.

  • everyone that likes these classic tunes are always disappointed with their generation. my question is why do people have to make more now? you can always listen to these great songs whenever you want thanks to the internet, and the people who post them.

  • @cocowanna so far im totally agree with you...but we still have a few decades to solve that..

  • thanks alot love her in the song god bless you

  • I have such a connection to her lately. I dont know if its because i am beginning to search for meaning in my life or because she is from my home town. she looks like she could be my mom. I love her raspy voice and chill attitude. Janis will FOREVER live in my heart!

  • There is no true female rock artist after Janis, Dont give A fuck what you say. she is the true rock and roll princess.

  • 3 people are racist. They hate Joplin race.

  • When she talks she sounds like Whoopie Goldberg

  • Touching indeed, what soul! Gotta lovit.

  • Janis, i see you have one headlight on..lol i really love this song, kris kristofferson may have wrote this song, however janis simply owns it... :)

  • Always when i listen to janis joplin , i always feel haunted but in a such nice way, her voice is so chill and lovely, i wish there was more alike her, but there will only be one Janis Joplin, and no one should compare her, cuz she is original! R.I.P sweet angel

  • this is authentic, it was on one of the real to reals my dad had coppied to CDs a few years ago. He has a ton of stuff like this from various artists from his hippie days as he calls them.

  • OMG! If this is authentic... then I bow to the queen!!

  • Lord..that voice...

  • That's for the song! Absolute gem!

  • Superb! I loved Janis and this is a really good insight to her character, thanks for the posting

  • Happy Birthday Janis.......never to be forgotten....my absolute favorite song by her!!

  • '91 likes' doesn't cover the overwhelmingly emotional response thousands of people have had to this song. Which version is this though? It's LOVELY.

  • My grandmothers friend went to highschool with her, But he ignored her because she was "weird" If only i had his chance to have known her..........I've never had respect for him since then

  • GREAT!!! very cool! JANIS'S THE BEST!

  • @GaBbYgAbBy1997 Well let's see, this is difficult but I'd always say you were right today and tomorrow too as all the rest is just the best impressed by playing every song she ever sang laughing till you're crying right in tune to the heart beating so strong that she took all her beats and moved along earlier than want would need express a preference, life aint fair bit no despair will improve on the treasure trove she has left us for as long as we can keep show roadied!!

  • @GaBbYgAbBy1997 Hell yeah!! Stand up for what you believe in! Janis would be proud of you!!

  • great

  • Every female rock singer since 1970 should have an altar to Janis Joplin in her room where she worships on a daily basis. She changed the industries attitude about what a female rock singer could be.
