  • i want the full masterclass, without paying for it,

but as he said, they get paid for every note they are playing here...

  • 1:42-1:48

amazing, I'd bet that he could teach just with his facial expression alone.

  • Esse cara que está tocando é de Portugal, já vi reportagens sobre ele...

  • his...eyebrows...

  • LOL @ 2:07

  • lol no cheating haha

  • I like the student's violin's sound color. so masculine

  • You play for 5 seconds then he stops you

  • I would hate to play for him

  • I'm a pianist, but i would KILL to have a masterclass with him.

  • every note u play,u're pay :)))))aha haaa.maxim ,geniouse..<3<3

  • He is a God!

  • did maxim just do a chromatic glissando????

  • @Amarynthine Yes, good ear:)

  • Vengerov the best!!!!!!

  • Maxim Vengerov Excellent instructors have in Europe

  • What I love about vengerov's masterclasses is that the violinists probably sound amazing on their own in concert, but when vengerov plays they sound so bad compared to him

  • @Julesrules05 nah, they always sound amazing, vengerov just sounds better !

  • @Julesrules05 Remeber that the majority of these violinists who are taking a master class at the Royal Academy of Music in London are at different levels, so it is to be expected that their skill level is different-never bad.:)

  • he's incredibly nice and fun! the student was great, but vengerov showed that he had so much more to offer.

  • this guy has a great vibrato! His tone is awesome on the upper register of the g string. Maxim is great! His interpretation of tzigane is incredible to say the least!

  • baby of the rich parents

  • I always laugh when Vengerov interrupts him at 0:18

  • LOL HORSE

  • I like teachers like this. That make music fun. That remind you that expression is what makes music come alive. After that practice doesn't seem so bad anymore and you can't help but play all your pieces in this manner.

  • How different the glissandos sound from the two people. My God. Vengerov's volumn is 100 times bigger....

  • it depends on the player of course but also depends on the violin ;)

  • The student's afraid and his technique is only in his fingers. Maxim uses his whole body!

  • very true

  • LO ADORO ES MI VIOLINISTA FAVORITO

  • !Very cool he is a nice guy!

  • "For every note you're playing, you're paid"! Awesome! lol

  • Does anyone know the piece that is being played?

  • its Tzigane (Rapsodie de Concert for Violin and Piano) by Ravel!

  • NO U!

  • @jara123451 When one doesn't have a background in classical music like yourself, it is easy to understand why you would make such a rude, foolish statement. How can you even begin to understand an advanced violin master class when you don't know one end of a violin from the other nor do you understand classical music. There is nothing wrong with Maxim Vengerov's teaching techniques he is highly recommended by my violin teacher.

  • maxim is divine -no doubt!!!

However he is no great teacher. He wants all the students to play his way, leaving them no other options in terms of interpretation.

  • but its up to the student to learn how to make his own interpretation.

You go to a masterclass purely because you want to see how HE interprets the music. The student can then take what they like and discard what they think is irrelevant.

  • yes, it just seems a Maggini...

  • is Mr. Pedro Meireles playing a maggini violin?

  • Maxim Vengerov is the best violinist in the World, I think he is multitalented in all parts of music not only with violin.

But what is the name of the student? He is not the best but he play it better than a lot of people that i know!

many reagards and hopfuly maxim play the violin very soon!

  • The student is Pedro Meireles

  • @peprptpzpupipo The student is just a technical machine.

  • @IcarusDrowning88 Technical machines would never ever love music and the violin enough to (try hard enough to) get this far, on a musical AND technical level.

  • Omg.... my teacher teaches Pedro!!!! I never knew, well i mean my teacher did teach pedro....he died :-(

  • :-(

  • wait, who died? your teacher or Pedro?

  • My old teacher

  • hey, guy~i'm so sorry for ur loss ur teacher :(

BUT, u CONFUSEd us too much...Vengerov is there , and pedro is there too...nobody died @@"

  • its a GIPSY.

  • So charismatic...... =D

  • wow! i wish he could be my violin teacher!

  • Well done Pedro!

  • I would guess Maxims instrument has a lot more umph than the students.

  • freeyourcrt, Maxim's violin's a $3 million strad....it better be good.

  • maxim shows a lot of passion. i love it.

  • that students face.. keeps crackin me up.. lol and he keeps doin the same thing!! never does wut maxims tellin him to do.. GO MAXIM!!!!!! ur of teh awesome

  • @mikey7087 What we forget is that learning the violin much like singing takes years and years often the same mistakes are repeated a few times before we get the hint and learn correctly so often you have to laugh at your own mistakes.:)

  • Maxim is awesome! I love the way he puts things

  • Maxim is a GREAT teacher - he works from the music and doesn't go for the personality bashing method of masterclass...he brings new levels out of the student rather than reducing them to pulp!

  • Maxim is just so funny! He is so good! the way he teaches is great.

  • the student pisses me off

  • too good for you?

  • no. I'm boo, btw. he's ok but he seems so in awe of vengerov that he's not really listening to what he's saying. its a pity. i've played for vengerov once (just once!!) and what he says is extremely vital though it might seem petty at first.

  • I agree, and I've seen that before in masterclasses. Students for some reason often tend to play in a bland way where everything sounds the same. A professional, especially one on Vengerov's level, knows how to bring out the spicy details that make all the difference. Especially with Ravel, for goodness sake, you certainly don't have to worry about being too expressive!

  • @vlnpiggy I agree with you it is all vital in order to get the end result where you are learning the violin, piano and or a classical vocalist.

  • I like the way Maxim vngerov plays

  • i read in the strad that teher will be a dvd with the tzigane masterclass!

  • By the website printed on the screen, i'd say it would be a preview for something, probably only available somewhere else, i'll check the website tho. I love Vengerov's expression! :)

  • can somebody post the full masterclass or is this just a preview of something really good thats gonna happen?

  • Woo Hoo! Tzigane masterclass with Vengerov. His version is the best! :)
