Jesus did not say steal from your neighbor, but give from your own heart. The welfare system in this state steals from taxpayers, and makes the poor dependent on their system. There is waste, fraud, mismanagement, in all levels of gov., but mostly in the social engineering arena. Churches played the role of taking care of the poor.

I thought Star had the only realistic opinion based on reality. Sure we all want to help people. that is not the issue. The issue is, do we make people dependent on Government. By provided so many entitlements we are enslaving so many Americans to be dependent on government rather than complelling them to be indepent and responsible citizens. Yes, there are those that cannot work and should get help, but far too many simply dont want to work AND want help. Now government is beyond broke.

I think that my essential objection with Moore's obeissance to the story of Jesus is that he also makes films that are documentaries, at least in format; and I feel like the compulsion to believe a book that is radically untrue has to have an unavoidable effect on anybody's logical thought process. It shows in his work, I think -- work that I consider brilliant and well-intentioned, I must add.

I've been watching this woman, Star Parker, and heard her make a few comments on the radio and she seems to understand self reliance and the work ethic very well. I support her 100 percent. She is an example of somebody who has seen and lived a life of poverty and worked her way up to the top. And she does not support the Nanny state of liberaland. I wish her well in her bid to win the Congressional seat in CA.
