if I remember correctly, you can only change the character if you end the game and re-choose the chapter. I changed the character during this walkthrough so it can't be too hard. The first playthrough you can only play as Chris (if you play single player)

You can give ammo to your partner but you don't have to. The ammo the character picks up only stays with them.

Partner will be with you all the time.

Infinite ammo can be unlocked to every weapon.

I hear alot of complaints about this not being a survival horror game like the first ones. I disagree about that; the difference between those games and these are that the horrors don't surprise the characters. The characters are more organized, which speaks of experience with these things as well. Sure, their lack of surprise and plenty of preparation makes it look less 'survival' and 'horror'... but it is still very much Resident Evil, and it was the only realistic route to go :)
