I don't understand the hate some people have for this show and its fans. If this show isn't your cup of tea, then fine. If you don't understand how people outside its target demographic can like it, then okay (I used to be confused by it, too, until I opened my mind a little). But why the hate? Why insult? What does it hurt them if we like it? Does it threaten them? Seems they could use this show's message of kindness and friendliness. Might make them a little happier with themselves.

@RevolutionaryOven I love Rainbow Dash because she does have all the faults you pointed out (although I'd say she's only rude 35% of the time). She actually has some negative qualities, and sometimes you see her work at them. I like how they made a character that isn't perfect, that isn't the perfect role model. To me, her being imperfect makes her more human, and so I feel a closeness with her that I don't have with some of the other characters.

Plus... You're overlooking the queen of selfishness... Rarity... I'm sorry, I like Rarity (most of the time...), but Rainbow Dash actually backs up her boasts with performance.  She's gruff (and at times rude), and boastful, but nowhere NEAR as much as Rarity is. Dash is completely loyal to her friends, she got a soft side that really shows in a few episodes. So yeah, I'd take a gal that's a little rough around the edges but backs up her boasts. She's a great character.
