I didn't expect her to be this way in real life... The movie does not portray her well at all. In the movie, she seemed a lot sweeter and sincere about loving Julia Child but watching this is like.... uhhh okay.
I think it's a fun idea of something to accomplish and she did it. I don't understand the dislike of her or her fun idea. I hate cooking so it's not something I'd do, but doesn't it seem like a fun accomplishment? As a kid I used to watch Graham Kerr as the Galloping Gourmet and I loved him and his show.
The character in the movie is annoying, and she is annoying. Julia Child was very turned off by this girl and thought she was making this into a fiasco about her instead of about the food. Julia said she felt this girl wasn't a very good cook too.

Oh dear GOD, I wish Sarah Palin would handcuff herself to this woman; that is how much I can't stand this "writer" and her two horrific, terribly self-indulgent books. This chick ranks up there with Balloon Boy's Dad and the White House Party Crashers in her obession with fame and attention. Isn't her 15 minutes up yet???

I'm a Mexican citizen and resident. I recently watch the film "Julie & Julia" and it was a great pleasure. I identified myself with Julie in some aspects and I really like her courage to pursue this monumental task, which at the end, rewarded her in many ways. I didn't like the fact that she wasn't able to meet Julia Child and that uncertainty that Julie had if Julia ever read her blog. How I contact Julie? I'd like to meet her in my next trip to NYC.
