@pauldinhqd As you can see at the END of the video, the owner is very cautious with the dog keeping its distance, and the dog probably knows from earlier experience to keep a descent distance to the parrot otherwise it would bite as well. Besides they're just PLAYING.
further proof that the human race is the lowest form of life. animals that we deem "unintelligent" can interact peacefully with animals of another species and we can't even interact peacefully with somebody of a different opinion or sexuality.
This is pretty dangerous. Even if the dog doesn't bite the bird, he seems to be running his mouth on his feathers and beak... You probably already know that dog saliva is toxic to birds. If he preens his feathers later he'll be doubly exposed to that toxic saliva. It's just not worth it.
@Areeane Because you can actually see the slobber all over the place?
The owner has without a doubt trained both animals, and if not, the dog knows to keep its distance because otherwise the parrot would bite back. In this particular video you don't see the dog's mouth actually touching the parrot, it is merely sniffing its friend. The parrot isn't necessarily touching the dogs mouth with its tongue either, it just seems to be pecking. Hold confidence in how pe-towners interact with their pets.
my god shut up with the whole "omg the dog could kill the bird" crap. no one wants to read your high horse bull shit. you owned a couple dogs or birds and read a vet article on the net and you think you're a fucking expert? let people do what they want, especially if it's completely harmless like this.
I wouldn't recommend two such disparate playmates simply because one animal's instinct might spike unintentionally, but It's an amazing moment to capture.
@AlphaWolfAus I worked in an animal hospital. I have a very good idea about what can happen between animals who usually get along but for one horrendous moment don't, and then there are those pets that never make it to the vet.
I'm glad it hasn't happened to your pets and hope it never will. Personally, I wouldn't bet an ear, eye or life on it.
If you have a problem with "disparate", take it up with the dictionary.
That's so cute! Your lorikeet is loving it! (coming back for more)!! They both respect their boundaries. (I loved the bird plucking the whiskers gently)! I have a lorikeet too & know that lorikeets can protect themselves more than some people know. If they want they can turn from sweet & innocent to 'Psycho Bird'!!...(where the dog would need the protection)!!! LOL!
@AlphaWolfAus he has odvioulsly trained the animals to interact with each other ^^ why would he be a moron if he spends numerous hours training his animals to get along!
@TechHelp171 I wasnt calling the video owner a moron. I agree with him, look at my channel and see my similar animals playing. I was calling the person who was insulting video owner a moron
Yeah I also find that this is not a good situation... I wouldnt trust the dog.. The bird is too small and defensive!! This video bothered me... :( Seriously I have 2 lorikeets and they are cute but they rely on you to protect them especially if their wings are clipped etc...
all it takes is one bite from the dog. better be safe than sorry and not put the bird in that situation. I unfortunately lost one of my lovebirds to my small dog even though they had gotten along for 3 years. So best is be preventative and as safe as possible.
So cute, the pup kind of plays like a cat and so gentle ^_^

So sweet and innocent.
Your little dog is very gentle and intelligent,
it's easy to tell he is taking good care to play softly for the bird's sake
