so many people get down on Yngwie because of his ego, but he's actually just plain-spoken and realistic about his ability. and i've never heard him put other people down or say he's better than them.
Both his tone and his playing is way better here than present era. IMHO his playing is great up until 1992, then it was downhill from there. Yngwie was really superb then.
@armandddd Well, the car accident was in 1987 and even though Yngwie played horribly right afterwards he picked up his playing and it still was great untill 1992-ish. It's not a matter of being able to play with Yngwie, his playing was almost like a waterfall when it was at its best - improv just poured out with 0% effort. To me it's about him not taking care of himself physically and mentally. In combination with aging, his mismanagement of his own well being block creative ideas and playing.
@armandddd THX for the reply BTW. I find no reason for going downhill being 30 years old if one take care of oneself. So many of these awesome rockstars slow down considerably right after 30. They seem burnt out and shadows of their former selves. Examples: Malmsteen, Schenker, Norum and so forth. I'm 33 myself and notice how aging affects me. I try to live a healthy lifestyle because a damaging lifestyle would slow me down considerably at my age and it will not get better with time :-D
@armandddd I have noticed the same decline where singers loose their singing abilities around the age of 40 mark. Is it a matter of aging, worn voice chords or unhealthy lifestyles? Examples: Ian Gillan, Robert Plant, Gary Barden, Joe Elliott, Glenn Hughes (lost rock voice, still has funk voice), Ozzy Osbourne and many more. The few that still had their pristine singing abilities after 40 was like Paul Rodgers, Freddie Mercury and Ronnie James Dio. Jorn Lande (42) is loosing it too just NOW IMO.
@malmstring I agree totally. 92 seemed to be the last year where he really played with style. The Seventh Sign was the begining of the Yngwie we know today, who relies on scaling too much instead of variety.

@jaamman, can you describe soul? Obviously, you can't. What Yngwie did was to practise for 12 hours a day compose great music and do what he loves! His love for the instrument is nearly godlike. He is a great musician and a great guitar player. His love for music and guitar: Now that is "Soul"! So don't come here and post something as stupid as saying this man does not have soul! Because he has, just as much as Jimmy Page or Hendrix.
@MikaelLV Excellent point! Very few players, if any are as inspired as Yngwie. These fools that claim he has no "soul" simply don't have the faculties to hear what he does.
yngwie plays well here as always he is a great guitarist but i think hes learned every classical lick possible on the guitar lol

天才だからできるのさ!!とか言うかと思いきや、一日12時間練習してようやく技術が見についたという所に、彼がいかに努力家かが分かりますね。
確かにビッグマウスかも知れないけど、日々の猛練習ゆえの自信だと思います。
