robotic or not, it doesnt matter. it's the record that counts. this isnt a jury trial in the us where the fact finder sleeps through the presentations....the words actually matter here...
every national round produces different mooting styles. I personally like his style. Conversational, not quite as formal, i.e. Australians. If you were referring to the substance of his argument then I wouldn't be able to comment
Yep, I meant his style. It is too... well "japanese" - almost as though he's afraid of the judges. He talks about use of force in annoyingly calm robotic manner, as though he's discussing how much burritos cost in Colombia.
@Cabal777 I don't think yours a stupid post at all. However we've gotta realize that in a moot, style counts for 20% at best. If you have clearer arguments than your opponent, answer questions better, and can address his/her issues head on, you will win the moot. Even if you stammer and stutter once in awhile (provide it does not affect the clarity of your case)
This "robotic" manner is characteristic of many people for whom English is not a first language. This does NOT mean they can't moot.
I really like how he answered the last question. Clearly he's done his homework.

@Cabal777 Wrong stereotype. Burritos are more of a Mexican dish.

@Cabal777 Colombia`s Andes U. beat all those "first world" colleges and universities. Uh, that really hurts!

Outstanding reference to the Tehran Hostages case. I was asked a similar question in the preliminary rounds but I didn't know about that para. 40!
Anyone know if there is a video online of the entire final round?
