@CoolerKing37 Not true. Brooks worked for SNL during the first year only when Chevy Chase was there. Bill Murray came on for the second season when Chase left. Brooks was gone too.
what happened to the part where he sings (to the tune of the actual "Star-Spangled Banner") :"While we stand here and waaaait/ For-rrrrr the Balll - game to Staaaaaaarrrrt"...? Maybe it was deemed too risky for TV or something like that.
@MrEYTheInternational -- Once I sang that at the beginning of a White Sox game at the old Comiskey Park and friends seated near me (unfamiliar with this Albert Brooks monologue) laughed.☺
@joshscobey - well it was a long time ago about 1976 ?
I remember that in the middle of the set - he sort of got tangled up in his mic cord & the mic stand and then suddenly lost balance and fell to the floor in a heap , twisted there in a pretzel his face & mouth were hidden from the audience - his back was facing the group- after we finished laughing he remained there and then - to deliver the remainder of his bit in that position, which was quit funny like a virtual soundtrack
He left out the best one. "My name is Hal Carter and I've lived the last 75 years in Michigan. While we stand here waiting for the ballgame to start, let's give thanks for TV and our 2 car garaaage...." Hilarious.
This was on the A Star is Bought album. He didn't do the submission that was set to the tune of the Star Spangled Banner: As we sit here and wait/ For the ballgame to start/ Let's give thanks for our homes/ And our two car garages. Let's give thanks for TV..Let's give ------(THANK YOU!)
Then there was Stan Freberg's tune set to the SSB: Rumplemeyer's horseshoes are the best you can use/ What so proudly he's nailed/ Onto all kinds of horses...
In another version the Anthemettes are the Anthemites. The lounge lizard version is my favorite. GET ON WITH IT!

The two people that disliked this video probably want the National Anthem to stay the same song.

LOL! Great stuff. I think Pete at 4:41 is almost like Robin Williams (not intentionally)

@ScottfromTexas Brooks did this way before Robin Williams came along. Williams a notorious joke theif so he intentionally ripped off Albert brooks
