How long do the movements typically last for? When do they stop? Can someone please help me with this. I've had this for over 4 years now and thought I was going crazy. Please respond.
@surfingisfun002 I don't know if there is a specific amount of time these movements can last for, but you are definitely not going crazy. Do you practice yoga or any type of spiritual discipline? If so, you can clear out the channels faster so that the energy can flow more smoothly, and eventually you will awaken to your full potential and ground this energy into your life, creating it however you please. @surfingisfun002 I recommend the book "Kundalini Tantra" by Swami Satyananda Saraswati. And yes that is common. Try storing excess hot energy in your stomach instead of in higher centers, that can help with delusions/craziness.

Now, I saw people behaving strangely before, in mental hospital, sometime on a street or in TV program about sick people, where persons were behaving exactly like some people from this video. What's going on here? I'm not an expert on kundalini, but I saw exorcisms and later it came out all events were staged, a hoax, a scum. People paid fees and all matter was rolling around monetary gain. If that was a backround of this performance, it is useless stuff, brings bad karma for future, bad taste.
We are in samsara. We like it or not, does not matter. To get eternity with God or Buddhahood we need enlightenment. In Zen it is called satori or kensho. That is like to be reborn in earthy Paradise or awakening from a nightmare or fever. We see our true self. We recognise our mind has no self-existance, is empty of self. As saying goes: " No self, no fear. No mind, no problem." We must realise this before we die, in bardo of death or in next human existance if we'll get one. This is nesessary.
People move like that when they sufffer acute anxiety attacks. Some kids who were abused as children do it too, hugging their belly and rocking back and forth.

Yes, I have seen these same manifestations in the church that I USED to go to. God told me to leave it. It's going some when you go to a church service and you need deliverance from evil spirits after you atttend.

It's the same thing, just differences in the body movements. Eastern people express themselves different from Western people, but it's all bodily movements under the control of the brain. The source of these movements however they are expressed is the brain, not god or the devil. Just as English and Hindi are different languages, they are both human languages and so are products of the language part of the brain. Similarly these bodily movements are brain products and a way of relieving stress.

It might vaguely look similar, but the power behind it is the main difference. As I said further up, speak to the couples who's marriages got restored in Toronto. Speak to the men and women who got healed from years of trauma from various different backgrounds such as nasty accidents, sexual abuse, addictions etc.. Speak to the children (I'm one of them) who for the first time ever were enabled to forgive their parents for whatever happened.
And I could go on and on. Do you honestly think Satan or Demons would heal and deliver to such extend and lead people to a deeper relationship with God and a life of more holiness? I don't think so, sorry.

The toronto experience was clearly a positive thing for you however for several others this was not the case. You mention people having relationships and so on restored, and others having traumas dealt with. People can get this type of positive outcome from secular means as well as the spiritualist church and other religions. @riverofgod I agree with you. It looks similar in a way, yes. But this video and the things happening at some christian revival type meetings are different. These people look possessed. Id be interested to know though what the purpose of this is and how they feel when they are finished doing whatever they are doing. The atmosphere in the video above, and in the "toronto blessing" are like night and day. Im not convinced this is the same spirit that was happening at the toronto blessing.
@mynamekeisha I have been not in one or two Toronto type of meetings and personally can't see much difference from the above video. The only difference is that the "christian" version comes with lots of music (often annoying and repetitive).Among the people that I personally know manifestations like these occurred only to these that were not sound in the faith. I was adventurous back then and participated and the outcome was the most demonic oppression I have ever experienced as a believer.
@vallentintube Ive been to meetings similar and there was no "demonic oppression".. I guess it depends who is putting it on as obviously there is something else going on here. There is a different though, the participants here are conjuring up the spirit/energy themselves. It isnt the exact same thing, from my experiences, but it doesnt surprise me at all that they look very similar. Its interesting indeed, what comes to mind is god vs satan magic back in egypt.

The music is hypnotic and repetitive, the message is watered down and close to New Age types of philosophy, the rejection of the sound mind and reason for the sake of "experiencing god." In fact it is the unscriptual message that is most disturbing in these meetings. Search "John Crowder-Ecstasy of God 1" on youtube and tell me how do you like the message.

Tongues is the primary tool Satan is using to accelerate the ecumenical movement and bring in the one-world church (Babylon Rev. 17). Judging by mere physical manifestation is foolish. Christian churches sing songs. If someone sings a song does that make them Christian? Christians usually meet in a building to have "church". Does this mean all who meet in buildings are Christians? Foolish. Jesus said, "you will know them by their physical manifestations" - oh sorry - wrong translation... correct version: Jesus said, "You will know them by their fruit". Is God's unconditional and all encompassing love in their hearts and minds?

The WORKS of the flesh are fornication, variation, emulation, revelry, idolatry...etc...etc... No, rest assured, you are correct about your feelings in this video. This is definitely not a Christian video. These people are Hindus practicing Kundalini yoga. This video is being used in a spirit of criticism to compare to the physical manifestations that Christians are experiencing more and more today under the power of God. They are trying to say these manifestations are the same thing but they are not.

Another problem that I have with TACF is that it is very commercial. Go to their website, they are making profits on things like prayer mats, and CDs and so on, it has become more like a business than a church!! Big conferences that generate a load of money too. Also their ''ministry schools'' were their own brand of theology is taught. I know of 1 pastor who repeatedly spoke out against traditional Bible Colleges, I wonder why that was?
Although I live in Australia I am Scottish and have read briefly about the revivals that happened in the HIghlands there, one big difference between what happened there and Toronto is that although there were 'manifestations' and shaking, people turned from sin were convicted and got saved, Toronto clearly is not experiencing the same thing, Was Todd Bentley not associated with TACF too, maybe I will do search about him, he was having an 'unhealthy' relationship with a staff member I think

Now I know many may be thinking the Spirit of the Prophet is subject to the Prophet. This another verse that I believe has been misapplied. In context this is talking about receiving a revelation from the Lord, not shaking or any of that. Paul is simlpy saying if you get a revelation take turns and consider others before you share it. You don't have to share first! This verse has nothing to do with controlling the Holy Spirit.
When we worship God He comes and meets with us. The presence of God is real and tangible. When His presence comes some may have physical reactions to His presence. Some may shake, prostate themselves, laugh, or cry. These things can be an emotional experience or a manifestation of the Holy Spirit. Now on the most part we can control our emotions. But God is God and we cannot always control what God is doing.
Again you are judging me as accepting any manifestation! You don't know me, ArsenalGear3000! I think what bothers you is that I give such convincing arguments that you have to resort to name calling & blanket judgments against me revealing the hatred & fear that is still in your heart... God can heal & deliver you from that, you know. He is the one who gives us unsurpassing peace. Have you been baptized in the Holy Spirit or born again? You don't walk in fear when His Spirit resides in you.
One last thing to also consider, and I mean it this time. When the Bible talks about everything being done decently and in order what is the subjest matter of Paul's discussion? Is it laughing, shaking, falling, or weeping? No! it is about gifts functioning in an orderly way. So that all may be blessed. These other manifestations, other than gifts are not even meantioned. Many mistakenly try to apply these verses to things that Paul never intended them to be applied too!

Many get hung up on manifestations and never bother to even ask these revivalists what do they believe about Jesus, the trinity, salvation, ect. They just see a manifestation and say that is strange can't be God! I would suggest everyone look not only at the fruit but also the doctrine and be open to the possiblity of God doing unusual things in peoples lives today not just in Biblical times.
One other thing I would like to leave with everyone is, don't disregard something because something looks strange or weird. Just because it is unusual doesn't mean that it is not God. God has always used the foolish things to confound the wise. Look at the things that happened to the Prophets and the strange things that God had them do at times! In our culture today we would label them lunatics!!!
My experience has been very good. What I experienced around these Churches in Revival has been positive. I have experience healing, more of the nature of Jesus in my emotions, and a greater sense of God's presence in my life. I have seen people set free from demon powers. I have seen the reality of the gospel manifested in peoples live!
The manifestations happening revival today happenend in past moves of God. I suggest that anyone that is unsure about these things should study revivals from the past, the great awakenings. Every move of God in the past has had unusual manifestations of the Holy Spirit. Jonathan Edward spoke in detail about these things. John Wesley didn't know what to think at first. Late he believed that it was of God. And like I said judge because the devil has some counterfeits!!!
Yes, Johngamon, looking at the fruit is what I have done for several years and it certainly does not appear to be produced from the seed of the Holy Spirit. Also do you know that John Arnott and Benny Hinn both claim to have received an 'anointing' from Katherine Kuhlman's grave! Also the TACF will NOT answer questions about their practices, apparently they will not engage in apologetics. I am glad that I go to a church that will happily explain the worship and preaching.
How have you watched for year when you attend a Church that is not apart of what is happening? I would also like to know where you are getting you informatioin about the graves site thing and about no one giving aswers at TACF? I do not know anything about the grave site thing. But I do know for a fact that they do answer questions at TACF. When I was there in 2000 they had a Q & A session and answer any question anyone had! Anyone could ask anything!!! And they did!!!

The problem is how do we decide what is the 'presence of God' From what I have personally witnessed and experienced by the 'blessing' is people becoming highly emotionally charged, HOWEVER there is rarely any change in their lives, they still continue to live in sin, there is no conviction whatsoever. As a person who has studied both theology, and mental health care and experienced this type of worship for several years I believe that my views are very valid, I simply wish to protect others.
I never realised that this type of worship existed! but yes it is certainly very similar to the type of thing that I have seen from churches who have been affected by the toronto 'blessing'. Although they usually use loud music and have someone at the front encouraging the people too. In my experience the toronto practices and teachings can have negative effects on peoples mental health. I get the same fear listening to this video as I did at those 'church' meetings.

I was raised AOG and I'm over 50yrs. old,so you can say I've been a "holy roller" my whole life.I thought I had seen it all until I saw these clips. I must say I don't agree with most of what I've seen. I don't believe in angel worship nor the making of "animal sounds" while praying. I've seen plenty of people "slain in the spirit" and have never these types of behavior. To me I think it's not of God and it's scary!

Be sure to apply the blood over yourself before you go anywhere if worried, & forbid anything that is not of God to come near you. Still I feel God's presence in manifestations of oil drops, rain, floating, fire, & being slain in the Spirit. One occasion the Lord positioned me with my head back and mouth open so I could receive a musical anointing. On another occasion I was positioned by the Lord forwards, backwards, one foot, then the other before I fell in laughter.
One last thing. My mother has had similar shaking, wobbling, seemingly uncontrollable & very strong manifestations for thirty years, though she is able to control them if she wishes. She has never been into Eastern religion & she was not around any these evangelists... she is ordained by Jerry Falwell. She teaches people to repent of sin & leads them to salvation. She is prophetic & has the life of a true child of God. God is shaking off religion, control, & pride, people, but be wise, yes,do!

Part B - Once again you need to read all of the comments. My mom's manifestations were questioned to the point of seeking deliverance. If it happened to you wouldn't you be doing the same? However deliverance was unsuccessful as you cannot deliver the Spirit of God out of a person. So quit accusing, you sound like the devil, who is the accuser of the brethren. If so, you can clear out the channels faster so that the energy can flow more smoothly, and eventually you will awaken to your full potential and ground this energy into your life, creating it however you please. It's the same thing, just differences in the body movements. Eastern people express themselves different from Western people, but it's all bodily movements under the control of the brain. The source of these movements however they are expressed is the brain, not god or the devil. Just as English and Hindi are different languages, they are both human languages and so are products of the language part of the brain. Similarly these bodily movements are brain products and a way of relieving stress.

It might vaguely look similar, but the power behind it is the main difference. As I said further up, speak to the couples who's marriages got restored in Toronto. Speak to the men and women who got healed from years of trauma from various different backgrounds such as nasty accidents, sexual abuse, addictions etc.. Speak to the children (I'm one of them) who for the first time ever were enabled to forgive their parents for whatever happened.

Id be interested to know though what the purpose of this is and how they feel when they are finished doing whatever they are doing. The atmosphere in the video above, and in the "toronto blessing" are like night and day. Im not convinced this is the same spirit that was happening at the toronto blessing.

@mynamekeisha I have been not in one or two Toronto type of meetings and personally can't see much difference from the above video. The only difference is that the "christian" version comes with lots of music (often annoying and repetitive).Among the people that I personally know manifestations like these occurred only to these that were not sound in the faith. I was adventurous back then and participated and the outcome was the most demonic oppression I have ever experienced as a believer.

There is a different though, the participants here are conjuring up the spirit/energy themselves. It isnt the exact same thing, from my experiences, but it doesnt surprise me at all that they look very similar. Its interesting indeed, what comes to mind is god vs satan magic back in egypt.

I have never seen people so out of themselves, they are totally taken by some kind of spiritual entities, I am impressed by the guy standing on his head, that is an abnormal human movement because he is like relaxed, the one moving is the spirit inside of him, not him.

No, rest assured, you are correct about your feelings in this video. This is definitely not a Christian video. These people are Hindus practicing Kundalini yoga. This video is being used in a spirit of criticism to compare to the physical manifestations that Christians are experiencing more and more today under the power of God. They are trying to say these manifestations are the same thing but they are not.

Another problem that I have with TACF is that it is very commercial. Go to their website, they are making profits on things like prayer mats, and CDs and so on, it has become more like a business than a church!! Big conferences that generate a load of money too. Also their ''ministry schools'' were their own brand of theology is taught. I know of 1 pastor who repeatedly spoke out against traditional Bible Colleges, I wonder why that was?

Although I live in Australia I am Scottish and have read briefly about the revivals that happened in the HIghlands there, one big difference between what happened there and Toronto is that although there were 'manifestations' and shaking, people turned from sin were convicted and got saved, Toronto clearly is not experiencing the same thing, Was Todd Bentley not associated with TACF too, maybe I will do search about him, he was having an 'unhealthy' relationship with a staff member I think

Thank you for the comment johngamon, the refs about the graves and Hinn and Arnott where from an article published by the Evangelical Alliance that actually wrote a very fair critique of the manifestations, I actually have recordings of HInn making the statement. I attended a church for 5 yrs that was very much influenced by TACF and many members went to Toronto several times. Glad that the TACF are now answering questions. Can I see their biblical refs for the howling and so on please

Now I know many may be thinking the Spirit of the Prophet is subject to the Prophet. This another verse that I believe has been misapplied. In context this is talking about receiving a revelation from the Lord, not shaking or any of that. Paul is simlpy saying if you get a revelation take turns and consider others before you share it. You don't have to share first! This verse has nothing to do with controlling the Holy Spirit.

When we worship God He comes and meets with us. The presence of God is real and tangible. When His presence comes some may have physical reactions to His presence. Some may shake, prostate themselves, laugh, or cry. These things can be an emotional experience or a manifestation of the Holy Spirit. Now on the most part we can control our emotions. But God is God and we cannot always control what God is doing.

One last thing to also consider, and I mean it this time. When the Bible talks about everything being done decently and in order what is the subjest matter of Paul's discussion? Is it laughing, shaking, falling, or weeping? No! it is about gifts functioning in an orderly way. So that all may be blessed. These other manifestations, other than gifts are not even meantioned. Many mistakenly try to apply these verses to things that Paul never intended them to be applied too!

Many get hung up on manifestations and never bother to even ask these revivalists what do they believe about Jesus, the trinity, salvation, ect. They just see a manifestation and say that is strange can't be God! I would suggest everyone look not only at the fruit but also the doctrine and be open to the possiblity of God doing unusual things in peoples lives today not just in Biblical times.

One other thing I would like to leave with everyone is, don't disregard something because something looks strange or weird. Just because it is unusual doesn't mean that it is not God. God has always used the foolish things to confound the wise. Look at the things that happened to the Prophets and the strange things that God had them do at times! In our culture today we would label them lunatics!!!

My experience has been very good. What I experienced around these Churches in Revival has been positive. I have experience healing, more of the nature of Jesus in my emotions, and a greater sense of God's presence in my life. I have seen people set free from demon powers. I have seen the reality of the gospel manifested in peoples live!

The manifestations happening revival today happenend in past moves of God. I suggest that anyone that is unsure about these things should study revivals from the past, the great awakenings. Every move of God in the past has had unusual manifestations of the Holy Spirit. Jonathan Edward spoke in detail about these things. John Wesley didn't know what to think at first. Late he believed that it was of God. And like I said judge because the devil has some counterfeits!!!

Yes, Johngamon, looking at the fruit is what I have done for several years and it certainly does not appear to be produced from the seed of the Holy Spirit. Also do you know that John Arnott and Benny Hinn both claim to have received an 'anointing' from Katherine Kuhlman's grave! Also the TACF will NOT answer questions about their practices, apparently they will not engage in apologetics. I am glad that I go to a church that will happily explain the worship and preaching.

How have you watched for year when you attend a Church that is not apart of what is happening? I would also like to know where you are getting you informatioin about the graves site thing and about no one giving aswers at TACF? I do not know anything about the grave site thing. But I do know for a fact that they do answer questions at TACF. When I was there in 2000 they had a Q & A session and answer any question anyone had! Anyone could ask anything!!! And they did!!!

The problem is how do we decide what is the 'presence of God' From what I have personally witnessed and experienced by the 'blessing' is people becoming highly emotionally charged, HOWEVER there is rarely any change in their lives, they still continue to live in sin, there is no conviction whatsoever. As a person who has studied both theology, and mental health care and experienced this type of worship for several years I believe that my views are very valid, I simply wish to protect others.

I never realised that this type of worship existed! but yes it is certainly very similar to the type of thing that I have seen from churches who have been affected by the toronto 'blessing'. Although they usually use loud music and have someone at the front encouraging the people too. In my experience the toronto practices and teachings can have negative effects on peoples mental health. I get the same fear listening to this video as I did at those 'church' meetings.

I was raised AOG and I'm over 50yrs. old,so you can say I've been a "holy roller" my whole life.I thought I had seen it all until I saw these clips. I must say I don't agree with most of what I've seen. I don't believe in angel worship nor the making of "animal sounds" while praying. I've seen plenty of people "slain in the spirit" and have never these types of behavior. To me I think it's not of God and it's scary!

Be sure to apply the blood over yourself before you go anywhere if worried, & forbid anything that is not of God to come near you. Still I feel God's presence in manifestations of oil drops, rain, floating, fire, & being slain in the Spirit. One occasion the Lord positioned me with my head back and mouth open so I could receive a musical anointing. On another occasion I was positioned by the Lord forwards, backwards, one foot, then the other before I fell in laughter.

One last thing. My mother has had similar shaking, wobbling, seemingly uncontrollable & very strong manifestations for thirty years, though she is able to control them if she wishes. She has never been into Eastern religion & she was not around any these evangelists... she is ordained by Jerry Falwell. She teaches people to repent of sin & leads them to salvation. She is prophetic & has the life of a true child of God. God is shaking off religion, control, & pride, people, but be wise, yes,do!

Pt 1 - For late comers, I am NOT defending the video above but manifestations similar to this in the Church. First - We have Jesus saying that we would do all the things He did and MORE. More means things He didn't do. We know that pride is one of the greatest sins out there. Jesus was hardest on the Pharisees, the religious folk, read Matthew 23. Part B - Once again you need to read all of the comments. My mom's manifestations were questioned to the point of seeking deliverance. If it happened to you wouldn't you be doing the same? However deliverance was unsuccessful as you cannot deliver the Spirit of God out of a person. So quit accusing, you sound like the devil, who is the accuser of the brethren. Pt 2 - When the Bible speaks of signs & wonders, these "similar" manifestations in the Church come under that category, but more dramatic. It certainly make you wonder! Satan is a counterfeit. Pt 3 - When this happened to my mom in 1980, a fire ball came off the stage & hit her in a conference (godly man speaking). It knocked her back two rows, but first she was suspended in the air perfectly still for several seconds. The manifestations concerned her & she tried to get delivered or exorcised of it, but you can't deliver someone from God! She is a missionary to Africa with good fruit. In Toronto the Spirit is Love & Holy; bringing with it salvation, transformation, & much healing.

You obviously know nothing about Kundalini Yoga. One must practice specific breathing and physical exercises in combination to stimulate the 'chakrah centers' in the body. The Toronto groups and other revival camps employ fervent prayer to Jesus Christ and worship of Christ to reach a heightened spiritual state. I'm not convinced that fervent prayer, worship of Christ and repentance of sin is of the devil? If it is, we're all doomed! Your reasoning defies logic. It's not Yoga my friend!
