I can only agree with part of your statement.

Emilie Autumn uses a violin, a harpsichord, and her voice mostly. It doesn't all sound the same. In fact, I'd like to hear two of her songs that sound the same.

Flight of the Conchords only has a bass and guitar and all their stuff doesn't begin to sound the same. All things considered though, they parody different style of music.
