@molokat This song actually came out a year after Mariah's debut; although Lateasha did have a previous album out in '88 (you can hear one of the songs from it on my channel).
she's ok, at first i thought she was a rip off mariah carey, but once she rapped i wondered why she would rather sing than rap. she's a pretty good rapper.
Gene Griffin Produced it & Timmy Arthur (Artie Hoyle) Co-Produced and Wrote it. The rap was done by KoKo (Deidre Thomas) who was another artist that worked with Gene.
@tlig I know what you're saying, but not this one. This was in Atlanta after Teddy went to Va Beach. The track was done by Walter 'Mucho' Scott from Basic Black. I am credited with co-producing it myself (Timmy Arthur)
So was ths prod by Ted or Gene? Agreed they were a good team but Gene compressed teddy to the same damn progressions so it got a lil bit old.....just listen to Guy's first album and THE FUTURE aka Guy II. Teddy used alot more strings in his work and jazzy chords over Gene's quick chords as I call it. But both of their works still had bad azz breakdowns.

This was produced by Gene. But I think I know what you're sayin' about their collaborative works vs. Gene's solo works. But I did enjoy some of Gene's solo productions, like this one and the group Mind.
Mind is one helluva of a cd, if u dont have u go pick up, its insane, new jack swing at it best. Mind - Made In Detroit 91 its in my top Ten NEW JACK SWING albums of all time.
Also the late Gene Griffin was an awesome producer along with my favourite producer of all time who I call Mr New Jack Swing is Teddy Riley. Back in the late 80's Gene and Teddy were a good team.
I did not realize Gene had passed earlier this year, but I just read about it on njs4ever. Apparently, he passed from complications of Alzheimer's. Very sad. But I know he is at peace now and knows we're enjoying and jamming to his music still!
Doers anyone have a copy of this song or even album???

Thanks for the info! I can't find where I placed my copy of the CD!

@ahoyle4ever If Gene Griffin "produced" it, then it in all likelihood was produced by Teddy Riley.
