see this is what is happening to day in america ...the ecomony now days are really bad and its finnally nice for tv to broadcast a show that tells how everyday life is during this diffcult time in america...its good to show an america family having it bad so if they having it bad how do u think the rest of the US is doing..many show that are shown dont tell us all reality shows are telling the truth and just shows the good fun stuff which is all fake

I've studied psychology for 35 years and I can say that this father is a 9.7 / 10. He is respectful of the kids emotions and feelings and he instills good values.
He may not be the best financial genius out there ...but .....we can't be good at EVERYTHING.
I would certianly hire him to build me a house anyday !!!

And, this goes to anyone reading this comment. They make a few thousand dollars every month correct? So, how the heck did they get food stamps??????
This family is just selfish. They're in our government's food stamps programs yet they still can eat out every weekend, buy "gourmet coffee", can walk around in their nice designer clothes, and have the nerve to say they're struggling? They have a monthly income of about $4,000 and they can't make that stretch? Bull. My family makes way less than that, doesn't get any government aid, manages to pay all of the bills, buy food, and have a little bit of money left over.

okay this is a slap in the face to all the people i have seen by my house, sigging in dumpsters for food or cans. Especially by my old school on the southside. there are homelessmen and women, and even children pushing carts full of cans, beer bottles, and scrap metal. Man, I wish they could have a tv show!
If the kids are old enough, make them get a job. Don't let them be picky either. Give them their choices of jobs to choose from and let them go get it.
@ChaparB for your information the older kids do have jobs, yes it may only be 2 that have jobs but basically their paychecks go to the parents already and it would probably extremely hard if the other kids were to find work
Trickle Up Poverty has hit the USA like a tsunami. Indeed It's a very sad place to be. But hopefully more people will learn that being frugal -and if need be "a dumpster diver"- is one way to toughen and sober our selves up, to the reality of this New World -Disorder!
