I don't agree with most of the things President Rajapaksa does. But everyone uses teleprompters these days so what's the big fuss? Besides it wasn't as if he was staring at it every second like an American President would do when they deliver speeches from the white house.
@ Duwaraka, There's nothing wrong in using teleprompters when there's no place for error. But why Gov is making it as a big issue? Maybe they want to hide the fact that MR is a good speaker when he's not. That he's gonna talk shit without a written script. Maybe Ranil shd start using a teleprompter but not SF. He speaks naturally and he has nothing to hide. The statement u r talking abt is not a problem of SF's speech but the problem of the journalist who published it. Two different scenarios.

Cant see a anything wrong in using a teleprompter. When you are talking to the whole country / big gathering there are no place for mistakes.
Ranil and SF shoud also start using ones rather than making stupid statements and later denying them.
