I've never heard anyone perform this other than Stevie in Handel's Messiah: A Soulful Celebration! How great to hear it new voices!
You know, I've listened to the Stevie version every Christmas since I was a young child. So, any time I hear this song, I swear I can smell pine, and I really want egg nog, lol

@jax72 It doesn't. Melodically, harmonically, it does... that's where it stops. I have a very strong ear for music, and the Take 6 Stevie Wonder one had a certain fire on it that can't be duplicated... well, I haven't heard one yet.
Test me, go find that song; and listen to it and come back and listen to this, you'll hear what I'm talking about. this one sounds nice, but it has a dullness to it, to be honest. Like it lacks mastery, and I'm a perfectionist so. Lol. Just my opinion.
@Q2IN2Y Dear Q2, It was never our intention to compete or compare ourselves with Take6 and Stevie. That is impossible! Not one of us there is a professional musician. We transcribed the song as best we could, did our own version, enjoyed ourselves and were happy to have introduced many in our audience to the delicious harmonies of Take 6. We just had a workshop with the great Bobby McFerrin who said..It's not about perfection, it's about music. No mastery- correct, but we touched souls that nite
@Q2IN2Y i'm curious in finding out how "good' you can sing this song. how much "fire" you put into it. true they don't sound JUST LIKE stevie wonder & take six but few singers can handle harmonies and key changes such as these. and i've heard A LOT of "good singers" in my day. you have a right to your opinion but you don't have to be crass about it.
I don't know why there are any hateful comments on this. It's difficult to follow the original artists but surely we can all agree they honoured the original work and deserve respect for it. They did a more than decent job with a unique arrangement, what more can you ask for?

OK , first of ll , unless you haven't noticed tht isnt Stevie wonder and Take 6 up there. But what it is is 6 People doing a pretty damn good job of covering a song done by 7 of the greatest vocalist of our time. Give em a break.
It was all fine and good until the change up. Then it just got all out of tune and broken honestly. The leading tones also weren't hit very well. The entire second half just sounded bad. You guys should have spent more time refining that. But again the first half was fine.
Your group has truly been blessed by God. Take 6 sings this as well. You almost sound as good as Take 6. Just keeping practicing and praising the Lord's name.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by that! Wasn't expecting great things but you guys delivered big time! The lead singer didn't try to imitate Steview (who can?) but made the song her own and it was a job well done

the end was out of tune. the guys went flat around the middle of the song. it was pretty good though.
