  • I just monitored the elapsed time on the bottom of the video and it was almost 30 seconds! Double what the title is!!!

  • bullshit.

  • I want to see it with a ticking clock in frame.

  • Cool, this pretty much same what i did and i confirm that starting browser in 15sec from booting is plausible with this setup or with minor fixes (though this video doesn't prove it).

Fastest time what i got when i tested to start eeepc with fastinit+kdrive+blackbox (and nothing else) was < 8sec. So there is another 8 sec to launch browser and connect to internet which is easily more than enough. Kudos anyway. :)

  • The topic is a lie. Next time you write "Booting Vista on an EEEPC in 10 seconds".

  • the little timer on the bottom of the video shows maybe 25-30 seconds which is normal.

  • Though kudos to you anyway, its way faster than a non-hacked ubuntu.

Why not focus your efforts on the pre-installed xandros 'easy mode'... with relatively little effort mine takes 16 seconds from power button press to being ready to use (not including starting a network connection). Perhaps with your seemingly greater knowledge of the ins and outs of linux you could do grater things still?

  • i d rather go with ubuntu than going with xandros... (more software possibilites (repos))

    xandros is kinda... toys'r'us?

  • That wasnt less than 15 seconds.... it was nowhere near!

  • Is that firefox ?

  • yes. screenshots are available on the blog tutorial

  • nice!

will you share your knowledge in a how-to or a wiki?

  • sorry. updated description with a link to a tutorial.

  • cool thx!
