O.k. people this is when we have to stand up and fight for gospel music in the 21st century. Savoy put this record out back in the day, what are they doing with it now? Email, call, tweet, blog, do whatsinever you have to do to get them to re-release this and many other albums in their entirety in digital or at least CD form. Not on greatest hits compilations but just like other companies do secular music, in digital form and in the original track order.
I have been looking for this song for yearz...we used to sing it in my choir....but now I'm in the Senior Choir & no one remembered it...even the choir director didn't remember (maybe I didn't sign it right eh ?...lol) but I didn't even know the name of the choir or anything. Thank you Johnzoe for posting this.
@BlessedBlonde March in? Can you tell me what "march in" means, I assume that this means you came into church as this song played. "The Lord of my life."
I literally grew up with this one. The song tells a story and gives a good illustration. We have gotten so far away the vocal techniques and the spirit of these types of songs. Very tight harmony.....
This choir and their pastor used to come to my home church in Muskegon, Michigan and Jeffery LaValley was something to see. He would direct...put the choir on a note and walk out of the church's back door and all the while the choir held it's note until she came back through the front door of the church and by that time, we were going in.
May have been around the early 1970's when Reverend Stanley Levy was there. Herman Robinson was an awesome director. You produced with Reverend James Cleveland and Los Angeles Gospel Messengers, my choir.
Herman was a great director. And a lot of fun to hang around. I came to Michigan in '72, left in '75, and came back in '79, so that was around the time. I think I was at Rev. levy's church once in Muskegon.
WOW, this is the song that we used on boardcast..1980,...

Uh I don't remember walking out of the church and having the choir hold a note. That may have been the late Herman Robinson. Jeffrey LaValley
