I was with the Americal Division in Vietnam,my friend was there at the same time, except he was with the 101st Airborne north of us. The Vietnamese had no concept of  what an Eagle was. They use to see the shoulder patch of the screaming eagle and called them "Chicken Soldiers". I use to tease my friend about bring a Chicken Soldier.

@SammyBoyATP I was in 5/8 FA at Campbell back in the early 90s. It was the only battery of 155mm there. The other two batteries were with the 82nd airborne. We were part of the 18th Fires/FA brigade. The entire brigade is now with the 82nd.

@stage51manager Sure. I was stationed at the 101st when I was in, so I guess it's just natural for me to feel love and affinity for my own kind. Even though I love and repect ALL service-members irregardless of branch of service, my fellow Screamin' Eagles will ALWAYS have a place in my heart and soul.
