They'll also likely add a woman who will engage in a predictable (and horribly stupid) love side-story. I hope she's the first one to die.

I don't understand why they have a trailer for it, and have not released it to the full public. This is why so many good movies don't do well. I was shocked/happy to finally see a trailer. But they should have released this sooner at the movies and everywhere. They have a teaser poster that they don't promote fully too. I hope they clean up their act and release some stuff quickly and promote "THE HELL" out of it!
By now there are so many fake trailers of this "thing" out there that it will take weeks for people to actually believe that it is really coming. Some people live by the philosophy horror needs blood and tits to be good, but horror doesnt! I like women and all but a girl pulling them out for no reason doesn't add much of anthing and it bugs me. I hate going to a movie and feeling akward as hell when there's a ten minute random sex scene.

I hate to say it, even though this looks good I've got low standards, mostly because we know the Norwegians die. That and of course, film making has changed alot.
@Taraka1 Should still be great though, the only thing we definitely know about the Norwegians are the two that get killed at the beginning of the 1982 version who are chasing the dog in the helicopter, other than that, we don't know how the guy got his throat and wrists cut and there was a cut scene of a Norwegian who was killed and inside a cupboard, hope they keep that in. Really hope that they're faithful to the original film.
My only problem... The special effects are probably going to be CGI, not the good old homemade stuff in the '82 version. Special effects aren't really that special anymore, are they? If it was up to me, the SFX in this movie would be done the same way they were in the '82 version.
Damn I so want this movie now, I have the script but damn. John Carpenters THE THING is my all time fav movie, I think it is as close to a perfect more as you can get. This movie can only fail in my eyes, I so want to be proved wrong.

@leakyvalve I was on a tram at Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. Apparently they showed this once at the NYCC and then only at HHN until the end of October. I think we will see this in wider release online in November.

My only problem... The special effects are probably going to be CGI, not the good old homemade stuff in the '82 version. Special effects aren't really that special anymore, are they? If it was up to me, the SFX in this movie would be done the same way they were in the '82 version.

Damn I so want this movie now, I have the script but damn. John Carpenters THE THING is my all time fav movie, I think it is as close to a perfect more as you can get. This movie can only fail in my eyes, I so want to be proved wrong.

This one has much better sound to the other bootleg! Also, you get to see a snarling mouth(?) at 1:56 that you don't see in the other one.

I like the fact that they kept the original theme song from the original pretty cool keeping it classic like. Feels more genuine that way to me.

@RyoNoHikari Yeah. Sitting there in the cold dark on a tram in an empty backlot - when the theme came on... That's when I officially got creeped out. Ennio did an amazing job with the score of the first one.

@leakyvalve I was on a tram at Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights. Apparently they showed this once at the NYCC and then only at HHN until the end of October. I think we will see this in wider release online in November.
