It's not the laser's power that can give you cancer, it's the WAVELENGTH you dumb fucks.

You won't get any kind of cancer from any type of laser with any power output as long as it's wavelength is over 350 nm. You can't see anything under ~400nm so, if you can see the laser you wouldn't have to worry about cancer. I cannot guarentee that you won't be blinded in a split second or have 3rd degree burns with a 1000mw laser though.

I'm not going to waste my time trying to explain something in great detail to someone who is either ignorant or unintelligent -- so I'll be brief in my explanation.

YOU emit radiation in the form of sound and heat. As long as it's not ionizing (beta, gamma etc) then you're fine. Lightbulbs emit radiation too...so does your cat.

Of course, the range of the movement will limit the complexity of the image, as you'll need to sweep several times per second to maintain a coherent image. This can be worked around by using more beams.

Really simple stuff conceptually, quite hard to do in practice.
