there is nothing that cannot be cut with straight edge that can be done with serrations, its just that it would be a LOT harder to cut of a small tree limb with a straight edge than with a serraited edge. it all comes down to personal preference and the intended use.
EngageTheKnot: Serrations are not ideal for a "survival" knife. They are nearly impossible to sharpen if you are in the field without a sharpening kit. Straight edges are much easier to sharpen in this case because you can use a smooth river stone to sharpen a blade. I tend to stay away from serrations because I notice little difference in cutting power and I hate sharpening serrations.
The blade style would be a clip point, scoop back (meaning the back part after the clip point where it clips down again). I am getting this knife now to review it, should have it within a week or two.
it seems pretty cool i suppose. how ever just a forewarning. a lot of gun companies don't make their own knives. 3rd party companies tend to make these via some kind of franchise percentage deal. another thing you might want to be careful of are just plain out knock offs. china made boot let sort of deal. i'm sorry if this wasnt clear my english is 2nd rate.
@polkatit its not called liner lock dumbass. although i don't know what the lock style is called, i know what a liner lock is and this isnt one of them.
Yes retard, it is called a liner lock. if you know anything about knives then you will know that. if you can prove me wrong with an example, then do so. If not Fuck off and don't call me a dumb ass when you are wrong. you don't know what it is so shut the fuck up. go troll on someone else's page
Wish they made a Serrated Hawkbill with this design.....That would be in my pocket!

Is there anything serrations can cut that a straight blade can't and if so is worth losing straight blade length for serrations?

@trumpetman50 i think that serrations are used for cutting rope
silkysmooth0724 1 year ago
@trumpetman50 The serrations are better for cutting things like strapping and fabric.

i cant decide whether i want a straight blade or serrated for this knife..is there any con to the serrations???
EngageTheKnot 2 years ago
the serrations are harder to sharpen. They are better for using like a saw to cut off small limbs on a stick. it depends on what your looking for.
