  • I want this played at my wedding when I walk down the aisle

  • Rikky Rock 'N' Roller has parts of Intermezzo No 1 in the backing track.

  • Someone should synchronize their christmas lights display to this piece, like so many have done to the Trans Siberian Orchestra, it would be awesome.

  • Abba, one the most powerful groups in history giving us timeless classics such sos, mamma mia, fernando and host of other high energy songs. Waterloo was their career launching song which was recognized at a music singing competetion. When they sang it in swiss, they lost. But a year later, sung it in english and took top spot. Since then, their career skyrocketed to give Abba the most recognition than any other group in history, even today. Back then getting an interview was impossible.

  • fuck!!! haha!!! i haved this on vinyl but i throw it by my window whe i was drunked!!! greetings from poland ;)

  • Thanks Symph. Probably all hot-shot session guys anyway.

  • Who's the bass player in this tune - he's incredible.

  • @Toner12 The album liner notes credits Rutger Gunnarson and Mike watson on bass, but it doesn't say who played on each song.

  • ABBA was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010

  • Sound's a bit like 'Wizards in Winter, lol.

  • Fantastic :-) I wish there was an Intermezzo 2

  • no wonder they went on to West End success. This has a hint of Lloyd-Webber's instrumentals - still great though!

  • The pic at 1:22 is awesome! and at 2:59... is 2:59 (picture) from King has lost his crown? :D the last pic is awesome too

  • @agnetha9 I guess you mean the one at 3:05? Well, to me it looks like it is from 1975-76 so I don't think it has anything to do with "The King Has Lost His Crown". I guess it's just a coincidence.

  • @Symphonyofflowers okay :)

  • Jean Sibelius version is better

  • Benny and Bjorn. Billionaire geniuses.

  • what was Anna doing with the garden shears? Hoping to cut off Bjorn's balls no doubt for having an affir

  • Musical Geniuses! This music will stand time.

  • Mmmm Agnetha's bum at 0:53!!!!

  • Love this song :)

  • I was so shocked when I heard this ABBA track for the first time. ABBA going classic? But the more I've heard this song, the more I loved it.

In the meantime, it became one of my favourite ABBA-tracks!

  • Sounds a bit like Trans Siberian Orchestra's 'Wizards in Winter'. Brilliant though. Love it.

  • Benny Andersson the genius. Just listen tot the different layers of this masterpiece.....

  • Know one does ot better!!

    jd

  • just sooo good

  • LOL Bjorn had quite a hairdo

  • i LOVE THIS TUNE, i once edited on to tape as if was part of action detective/spy series I called Centoreye of this was in the in the 80s Inpsired by Knight Rider The A team & the Professionals (CI5 had reruns in the 80s) and I recall having the idea of the shows fused together

mode of transport used a Van with state of art eqipmant a talking lambugini a volvo esate & a power boat

interermezzo #2 i wud use 4 the theme

  • @gallafey see my channel for a tribute using it :) life of the dragon

  • THIS SONG ROCKS

  • Damn addicting song! It was in ABBA-The Movie (1977)

  • From 00:39 to 01:59

  • Hi, does anyone know where I could find the piano sheets of this masterpiece?

  • me too... if you find them... please let me know!!

  • Truly amazing piece... So many memories!!!

  • This is the only instrumental tune, ABBA ever have made. Then we can wonder what have become of Intermezzo No. 2.

  • Sorry, you're wrong. ABBA also made the instrumental "Arrival" in the same title album (1976). It's a very nice tune, too.

Mike Oldfield made an excellent cover of "Arrival" in his album "QE2" (1980).

  • What a stunning composition - classical, rock and pop all rolled marvelously into a beautiful whole, a masterpiece indeed!

  • An underrated masterpiece.

  • WHERE DID YOU GOT THE LAST PICTURE FROM???? I love it..

  • I found it at a site called getabba com, but unfortunately that site has closed down.

  • DAMN IT!!!!!! =(

  • Well, I'm sorry but there is nothing I can do about it. But if you really want that picture I could send it to you via e-mail. Just send me a private message with your address.

  • @Symphonyofflowers can i have that picture too? the last one I mean

  • @agnetha9 Yes, I tried to send it to you but you have enabled friends lock so I couldn't send it. I guess you will have to send me a friend invite so I can send you the picture.

  • Benny is a towering talent on the piano and keyboards and synthesizer. I love this piece!

  • Benny Andersson has done quite a few instrumentals since ABBA ended. Normally though I find them similar to Schubert, this is more like Beethoven in style maybe.

  • Yeah! I was also thinking of that

  • Go Benny! Rockin' the piano! Love ABBA

  • Oh my god, this is REALLY amazing! Even though this has song no lyrics, they should've released it as a single :)

  • Hell...this a one piece of an opus!!

  • Just an instrumental that's on one of their albums... I don't think I'm thinking of the same piece, though it was 30 years ago(good heavens... thirty years... How old am I?)

  • But ABBA doesn't have any "Intermezzo Nr. 2". They only have "Intermezzo No. 1". The only other instrumental they have released is "Arrival". There are some demos like "Scaramouche" and there is "Tivedshambo", but "Intermezzo No. 1" and "Arrival" are the only instrumentals that have been officially released.

  • I remember this from when I bought abba albums, though I prefer Intermezzo #2, I think. It's interesting how much this sounds like andrew lloyd weber from jesus christ Superstar.

It's schlock, and not very good schlock at that, but it's fun, and I like it a lot,

    Thank you for posting!

  • Excuse me, but what's "Intermezzo # 2"?

  • This is my favorite ABBA song!I taught myself how to play it on piano. It took a while. I will never understand how Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, and Fernando became more popular than this masterpiece(can't stand them).

  • i adore thissssssssssssssssssssssssSSSSSSSSSSSSsss

  • Is it possible to not love this song?!

  • I'm 16 years old and I am also a fan of ABBA! I think it's pretty cool that this "old" music can survive and still be so damn good.

  • ditto

  • Is this is one of my favorite Abba tracks. I really wish they could have mixed it up a bit more, and had more instrumentals, maybe some heavier rock songs (more like So Long, I guess), but I guess the powers that be determined that such eclecticism would undermine their "pop charts" potential, or whatever.

  • AWESOME ABBA SONG!!!Benny Anderson is genius.Once of my most favourite abba songs.Bud Intermezzo No:1 is better in Live version,I thing.Live version has got more energy.

  • 1:00 was made in Poland in "Studio 2" :)

  • Very nice video. I only wish my first ones had looked so good. Not a blurry pic in the whole vid! I especially like the pics that are nicely framed. Good job, keep it up!

    Peace, Jim~

  • Thank you! I only try to do my best. I am working on a video for "Eagle" and I plan to post it a few days.

  • It looks like you and I have a lot in common. I'll settle for nothing but the best in my video's. If I don't like them, I don't want to assume anyone else will! I'll be watching.

    Jim~

  • Yas, I always try to my make my videos as good as possible. I only upload them when I feel I can't make them any better.

I also discovered ABBA in 1975 like you did, and I am also an Agnetha fan. Of course I have nothing against Frida, but Agnetha is my favourite in ABBA. And my favourite album is "The Album" with "The Visitors" in second place.

And by the way, it would have been nice to see what the other ABBA fans here on YouTube think about my videos.

  • @Symphonyofflowers Wow, "The Album" (first) and "The Visitors" (second) are my very favorites too, because are the most interesting artistically and musically in my opinion... my third place is for "ABBA", and this song is so fucking addictive¡
