Abba, one the most powerful groups in history giving us timeless classics such sos, mamma mia, fernando and host of other high energy songs. Waterloo was their career launching song which was recognized at a music singing competetion. When they sang it in swiss, they lost. But a year later, sung it in english and took top spot. Since then, their career skyrocketed to give Abba the most recognition than any other group in history, even today. Back then getting an interview was impossible.
@agnetha9 I guess you mean the one at 3:05? Well, to me it looks like it is from 1975-76 so I don't think it has anything to do with "The King Has Lost His Crown". I guess it's just a coincidence.
i LOVE THIS TUNE, i once edited on to tape as if was part of action detective/spy series I called Centoreye of this was in the in the 80s Inpsired by Knight Rider The A team & the Professionals (CI5 had reruns in the 80s) and I recall having the idea of the shows fused together

Well, I'm sorry but there is nothing I can do about it. But if you really want that picture I could send it to you via e-mail. Just send me a private message with your address.
@agnetha9 Yes, I tried to send it to you but you have enabled friends lock so I couldn't send it. I guess you will have to send me a friend invite so I can send you the picture.
Benny Andersson has done quite a few instrumentals since ABBA ended. Normally though I find them similar to Schubert, this is more like Beethoven in style maybe.
Just an instrumental that's on one of their albums... I don't think I'm thinking of the same piece, though it was 30 years ago(good heavens... thirty years... How old am I?)
But ABBA doesn't have any "Intermezzo Nr. 2". They only have "Intermezzo No. 1". The only other instrumental they have released is "Arrival". There are some demos like "Scaramouche" and there is "Tivedshambo", but "Intermezzo No. 1" and "Arrival" are the only instrumentals that have been officially released.
I remember this from when I bought abba albums, though I prefer Intermezzo #2, I think. It's interesting how much this sounds like andrew lloyd weber from jesus christ Superstar.
It's schlock, and not very good schlock at that, but it's fun, and I like it a lot,
This is my favorite ABBA song!I taught myself how to play it on piano. It took a while. I will never understand how Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, and Fernando became more popular than this masterpiece(can't stand them).
Is this is one of my favorite Abba tracks. I really wish they could have mixed it up a bit more, and had more instrumentals, maybe some heavier rock songs (more like So Long, I guess), but I guess the powers that be determined that such eclecticism would undermine their "pop charts" potential, or whatever.
AWESOME ABBA SONG!!!Benny Anderson is genius.Once of my most favourite abba songs.Bud Intermezzo No:1 is better in Live version,I thing.Live version has got more energy.
Very nice video. I only wish my first ones had looked so good. Not a blurry pic in the whole vid! I especially like the pics that are nicely framed. Good job, keep it up!
It looks like you and I have a lot in common. I'll settle for nothing but the best in my video's. If I don't like them, I don't want to assume anyone else will! I'll be watching.
Yas, I always try to my make my videos as good as possible. I only upload them when I feel I can't make them any better.
I also discovered ABBA in 1975 like you did, and I am also an Agnetha fan. Of course I have nothing against Frida, but Agnetha is my favourite in ABBA. And my favourite album is "The Album" with "The Visitors" in second place.
And by the way, it would have been nice to see what the other ABBA fans here on YouTube think about my videos.
@Symphonyofflowers Wow, "The Album" (first) and "The Visitors" (second) are my very favorites too, because are the most interesting artistically and musically in my opinion... my third place is for "ABBA", and this song is so fucking addictive¡
I want this played at my wedding when I walk down the aisle

Someone should synchronize their christmas lights display to this piece, like so many have done to the Trans Siberian Orchestra, it would be awesome.

@Toner12 The album liner notes credits Rutger Gunnarson and Mike watson on bass, but it doesn't say who played on each song.

no wonder they went on to West End success. This has a hint of Lloyd-Webber's instrumentals - still great though!

I was so shocked when I heard this ABBA track for the first time. ABBA going classic? But the more I've heard this song, the more I loved it.
In the meantime, it became one of my favourite ABBA-tracks!

This is the only instrumental tune, ABBA ever have made. Then we can wonder what have become of Intermezzo No. 2.
Svendborg12 2 years ago
Sorry, you're wrong. ABBA also made the instrumental "Arrival" in the same title album (1976). It's a very nice tune, too.
Mike Oldfield made an excellent cover of "Arrival" in his album "QE2" (1980).
