  • Porche is a monster.. A lot better then subarus flat engines.

  • Left foot should be out the window.

  • That's the gear of a pure racer =)

  • 東名のポルシェじゃね?

  • このオンボード映像ハンコックポルシェか?

  • Sounds really good . I ended up counting the shifting the last lap . Great video , these cars sounds great .

  • why does this guy give the gas pedal a slight hit each time he downshifts? That doesn't make sense to me, shouldn't he not be giving it gas as he "downshifts"? Never seen this approach before...WTF?

  • that's because you never had the chance to drive a race car, only a road car. what he does is a shifting technique called "heel and toe".

you need to understand how an engine and gearbox work and what is the connection between them to proper understand what he does. basically in a road car you don't need to do that because your car's gearbox has synchros to make the transition through gears. also your normal car doesn't have 450 BHP and 450 torque.

  • ok now, when you brake engine RPMs start to drop, when you press the clutch gearbox rotates to higher RPMs. so he blips the throttle to make the engine RPMs go up to equal the RPMs in the gearbox, otherwise it could spin because the forces are too big and it transfers a lot of power to the rear wheels. these racing cars have syncros also but this technique helps to keep the car smooth when changing gears, especially if made in a corner, and also saves engine and gearbox life.

  • what? a gearbox doesn't "rotate to higher rpm's" when you press the clutch! you blip the throttle on downshift because when the clutch is released with a lower gear selected, the engine output shaft better match the transmission shaft speed or you'll risk locking up the drive wheels. in a rear-engine car prone to oversteer already, that's a recipe for a spin.

  • u shouldn't hate about something u know nothing about, and man, u really have no idea do you?

  • I'm not hating you idiot! LOL! I'm just not familiar with this, and yes, I don't have any idea...LOL...that is why I'm asking...DUH!

  • @michaelanthony He is matching the engine revs with the trans speed to release pressure on the gears so he can shift without the clutch. The trans has no syncros.

  • @gordonitis It also matches the engine soeed with what it will be in the lower gears. If he does not do it the engine braking will break the rear tires lose and he might spin or over rev the engine.

  • It's called a sequential shifter. you don't need a clutch. It's all computer's now-a-days.

  • it's not computer...sequential is essentially a manual gearbox. all mechanical. no electronic involved.

  • in a sequential gearbox, the gear's are striaght cut. nothing about computers.

  • @bnracer08 No computer. It's got straight cut gears and no syncros. you just pull into gear. No clutch release required.

  • totally awesome !!!! .. no clutch upshifts =)

  • who is the driver?

  • the speedway is very boring

  • no clutch on downshifting?? ~~

  • yuck.i like the traditional clutch, shifter.the whole nine haha

  • I see a SuperGT banner ont he windshield...GT300 car?

  • yes,it is.
