@patsoby he is!? daaang I didn't know... great performance though. I hope he doesn't overdo it with the alcohol. We need to keep bands like this around
@derickonfire - as someone who has been an artist and performer, critiques can be hard, but you have to take them if you care about being a better performer. THE SINGER can decide what to do with the critiques and make his own choices. And resorting to name calling? Really?? Come on.
Bryan is such a phenomenal Drummer and Percussionist. I love the whole band, just wanted to show the Drummer some Love. You Guy's are Grrrrrrrrrrreeeeattt!!
Fantastic Composition, Fantastic Orchestration, and I ABSOLUTELY love the Core of the Band's timing. With three Guitar Players and Orchestral maneuvers in the background the timing has to be perfect. I would say You achieved that perfection...and then some.My Ultimate Respects to you and your excellent Lyrical skills My Lads. As they say in the U.S. Navy.......BZ. That means Well Done!
Damn....I get emotional from watching Matt Berninger(lead vocals) being so passionate about his music. Truly depressing but, nonetheless beautiful music.
these guys are such a great story, been chopping the tree for more than ten years, finally getting the recognition their genius deserves, real emotional, soft yet powerful, it's such a buzz to see them doing well.
Potentially my dumb question of the week, @2:39 is that Richard Reed Parry of Arcade Fire? If so it's great to see two of the best bands in the world collaborating on some level.
I was given the assignment to analyze a song in my English class. I presented the song to my class and when i was done my teacher came up to me and said "That song is amazing ,Thank you'." THANK YOU NATIONAL:)
i love this band and am listening to them everyday. there songs follow me in my head all day long as well. But i cant stop thinking the lead looks like Bill Clinton
Sorrow also found me when I was young. Cover me in rag and bone. So great. Thanks The National. I love the octave harmony on the vocals. Brilliant. I love also all the instrumentation. A proper band.
@rubengrappig may be you did or maybe you didn't....
however I did have the honour of seeing Joy Division live - and i got deja vue watching this video. My comment was quick and to the point - yes they have, quite excellently created their own style and sound. Based on lots of influences, as we are influenced by others in life...
... and I was quite right... they are most certainly influenced by Joy Division - as I've since checked them out on wiki etc....
Nope, I'm only 16 so it's impossible for me to have seen them, haha. Well I know they are influenced by Joy Division, but to say ''Joy Division are back'' is something else. I thought you meant they were like trying to imitate Joy Division,
My new favorite song. Especially those first two lines. "Sorrow found me when I was young. Sorrow waited, sorrow won. Sorrow, they put me on the pill."
So I bought the album not too long ago because of Bloodbuzz Ohio, but the whole album is amazing. Sorrow is by far the song that evokes the most emotion out of me.
Why does this song always bring me to tears?! It's just perfect...Best album I've heard in a while...Consistently good...not a single bad track...Can't wait to see them live...I have chills...
Wow!!!!if these guys dont win some recognition as Band of the year this countrys minds are warped, the messages here are just unreal,John Lennon look-alike drummer included, mind blowing, touching to the soul and mind guys your the shizz, euthoria in every word & every song, like a music cocktail makes a junkie out of the avid listener if tasted too often,Ghod damn it,powerful and magick,Im hooked..MUCH LOVE~Vlada~aka Rayvhenwing
Great Band. I love the ambiguous lyrics and poets approach to questions about the meaning of their songs. It would be a great band to see live, because they don't try to sound exactly like the CD.
Something about Richard's off-key against the violin just works. It's raw, it's passionate, it's heart-wrenching (is it wrenching or renching?), it's fitting with the song. I dunno...I like it.
people make songs as emotional and passionate as this and olly murrs and one direction are winning awards! unbelievable!
