  • As Ashens pointed out in his Game.Com special, it would seem that Batman orgasms everytime he's attacked.

  • @MoonlightDuskXIII Yeah, it does kinda sound that way :D

  • The only two games I had for this back in the day were Wheel Of Fortune and Jurassic Park..as a kid I rather enjoyed them but looking back they were rather low quality

  • The two best games I've played on this terrible (yet sorta "so bad, it's good") handheld are "Frogger" and "Wheel of Fortune". Those two are fairly decent. Worst I've played on the system is "Sonic Jam", which is so bad that it makes "Hotel Mario" look like "Super Mario 64".

  • @MattTheSaiyan Given that Sonic is all about speed, I can totally imagine just how bad that would be. I have Wheel of Fortune, but couldn't get into it at all.

  • ::whip:: ::whip:: Oh! Oh! ::whip:: ::whip:: Oh!

  • BTW now that I'm actually looking at this instead of remembering EGM, I have some questions: what are you fighting? To me it looks like wild catwomen, milkmen and dudes swinging guitars. And is this thing incapable of playing more than one sound at a time? Whenever Batman is hit his... yell, interrupts the music. Punches interupt the music too.

This is also the only game I've ever seen where the health bar filling up means you are dying.

  • @RojOdio To be honest, I don't know what I was fighting. The view on this screen is actually better than the view I had while I was playing it. I don't know about the sound capabilities either, except that they were utterly crap. It really is a truly horrible console.

  • The only reason I know this thing exists is because of EGM's Crispin Boyer playing the soundtrack and audio cues from this game during their podcasts.

  • @RojOdio They (and I) should be ashamed for bringing such a horrible game to people's attention... lol :D

  • I love Batman's "Aww" yell. It's like he just dropped ketchup on his second favorite shirt.

  • Ahhh

  • Well I really enjoyed this game on my game.com... I think it was 2001 when I stumbled over this piece of hardware. Batman and Robin is definately one of the best games on this machine. If you like old school fighters like double dragon, this is worth a look. But you are right, the display sucks! But there are some 1st person scenes in this game what look nice and graphics are nice drawn and even with parallax scrolling!

  • @MrHabaki even when i was 11 and got this thing i pretty much hated the hell out of it.... if this thing was like $10 it would be good but i would be depressed if i knew what my parents paid for it

  • This was one of the more playable games on the Game.Com.. Unfortunately, the screen kills what good there is. :/

  • This makes me miss EGM Live* so much.

  • @STRANGEJAMES85 Yeah, me too. I came here looking just for that sound effect, ahhh, ahh, ahh *doo da doo do*. Thankfully, there's lots of other great podcasts that took its place when everybody left.

  • I've just watched Gamester81's review of this thing, yes it's horrible, it's one of those so bed it's good products, I want one just because it's so bad.

  • Even the music on these games shouts out "we really can't be bothered!" lol

  • Everything about it is truly awful. If ever a system and its games deserved to fail, it's this one.

  • Never saw this video originally steve but this got linked to gamester81's review he's just done. Boy this console is god awful lol.

Talking of awful, I just won an atari lynx on ebay for £13.25 so prepair for an unboxing video lol

  • @RetroGamerVX The Atair Lynx isn't aweful, the Sega GameGear is aweful, they fail too easily, and there aren't any unigue games for the system that aren't on the Master System, the Lynx also had better graphics and sound than the GameGear.

  • Well, not having tried it yet, I am only going off what all the reviews on here seem to say about it. I have won rygar with it, so I will feed it some batteries and see how it goes when I get it. You never know, my opinion may differ :o)

  • No, the game was crap on every system that was cursed with it.

  • Read about this thing in Retro Gamer, and they described the screen as being a "blurry mess" when too much was going on. Thought they were overreacting, but nope. You have the evidence to prove me wrong!

  • lol... yup. I read that article too and thought they might actually be understating just how awful it is.

  • I thought I had seen the worst of the Batman games... This is hilarious!

  • '97?!!! You're kidding me? Wow... 'it wasn't going to do anything but fail' is right.

And what's with the music? El terrible!

Anyway, nice to see the hand held vids this time around.

  • I've never even heard of this thing before. I'm assuming this came out in the early 90s?

  • They came out in '97, believe it or not, which is shockingly late for something with such a dire lcd screen.

There are a lot of good features on it, like touch screen, modem support, and other PDA like stuff... but with that screen, it was never going to do anything but fail.
