  • yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssss

  • I WANT A FULL 4-6 HOUR LONG HISTORY OF RAP!!1!!!

  • The was the JAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM back in the day!

  • The Jamie Foxx show brought me here

  • Enter Shikari brought me here.

  • Delightful! How rap ought to be. Thanks for sharing! Do you know when it aired?

  • @cuyomdz6571 its hip hop not rap.. watch the change when ice cube came around in the early 90s

  • The best rap record ever! And I've got it on vinyl too x-)

  • YA RAP IS CORNY NOWADAYS

  • why do I care how much crack a guy smokes and how many bitches he fucks this is how rap should be, current rappers listen up.

  • Classic True to Its Roots

  • it would be better if i was born in that generation of music. it doesnt matter because i can still listen to it now and point out how good it is compared to music now

  • Oh my god it's Milky!

  • boobies

  • If your watching this video you know good music

  • try not to move you shoulders or hips when this song is on

  • check ze grooven daar! ik wil daar ook zijn! XD

  • ignorance is rampant, this was a completley contrived and fabricated attempt at hip hop as its real roots grew through artisits like herc, grandmaster flash and africa bombatta

  • I'm 16 and lucky adults, to have music like this, Two words, real rap

  • I was born in the wrong generation.

  • pleaze people, this ain't tha first hip hop record ever. Fatback King Tim is the FIRST Hip hop record

  • im 15 and also hate my generation with a passion... its soo boring >.< i mean all we do is go to school and go on the computer x.x

  • looks so strange seeing rappers not dressed like gangstas with massive chains, oversized t-shirts and wearing their jeans round their knees.

  • pity that u cannot find it in good quality.. :/

  • class tune

  • first 14 seconds = the ketchup song lolz

  • No macho bullshit, just a fantastic sample and a good beat, and some serious rhymes = fun and funky hip hop. The real deal. Not many authentic hip-hop artists around nowadays that's full of ego and gang violence. Ugly Duckling and People Under the Stairs are the only two that I can think of that have stayed true to hip-hop.

  • i was one of the 1st professional radio and disco DJ in the philippines, when we fssrt played this on-radio, we got so many people calling and hating us..but we we are a progresssive radio, and we wup with it..and that particular song gave me my career that spanned for 30 years..,thank you sugar hill, thank you grand master flash

  • Fags? Homosexual people are now accepted as part of the community.

  • @aimeemacdn Actually, the meaning of the word fag has changed. It can refer to any uncool or lame person, or an obnoxious and inconsiderate Harley Davidson rider ;) lol

  • this is like my favorite song and RaulFepansio below me is a self consious fag who feels the need to judge something that no one cares about his opinion

  • YOUR A BUNCH OF FAGS CUZ U LIK THIS SONG

  • I love the white women in the background who have no rhythm :).

  • Pitbull is such a dick!

  • it came more to the point of fun from dancing and those fancy melodies.... far away from the ice T gangsta rap invention....

  • His sideburns are awesome.

Few rappers today could pull them off.

  • You're all complaining but there are a lot of artists like this around.... You just have to look :D

Try searching Murs or something :) Rap these days isnt all about hoes and bitches

  • @I think the problem is the record industry focuses on the rappers that talk about bitches and hoes... Your statement describes the whole issue with music today, music fans shouldn't have to "search" for music they like in a certain genre... Back then this was mainstream, I think what people are saying is they want more positive mainstream music...

  • Why couldnt i be in this era of music....

why isnt there a song as good as this...

    so sadd

  • Im 14 Ive alwyas wished I live as a teen in the 80's and 70's

  • There are a lot of things about the modern day and age--the instant gratification, the overanalysis, the hypersocialization through technology, the global and political awareness...things that keep our culture from going back to these golden times.

But there is NO. REASON. someone couldn't make more mad beats like this. Get to work, somebody!

  • i wish gangs like this ran my neighborhood

  • Hotel motel holliday Inn.. all these jackasses who put down rap because of a few explicit songs, never listen to all the other joyfull stuff--

  • @warren3427 I completely agree with you, but this is kind of an explicit song as well. Not with cuss words but with sexual things. I mean "super sperm"

  • @warren3427 I'm just saying, it's not a "family" song. It's only that in parts

  • that´s cool and I almost know all the song it´s not the same but i know it

  • wonder mike has sick flow.

  • 1979!!!

  • Many Artist's have sampled $ugar hill gang rapper's delight from:

    Lil Kim to:

Cas$idy not for gettign Ice-cube & so on

  • Solid tune

  • "they sound better than all these rapper of today they actually sound right not all these cuss words"

"Im 17, and I envy the fuck out of the people who lived throught this period of time"

There are rappers who don't just swear alive you know.

Try 'Sage Francis slow down ghandi' or 'Jedi Mind Tricks I who have nothing'

Hendrix is the only person I can listen to endlessly and still find new things, I love the 60's, 70's and 80's, but these guys weren't living in the past

  • They had EVERYBODY jammin in the disco's back then....I wish I was old enough to party back then! LOL.The first rappers indeed....

  • Comment removed

  • First rappers!

  • @ZamoraDZamora AMEN! ...FINALLY someone with some common sense about these so called "rappers"

  • I saw them in August here on Long Island! They opened for the Psychedelic furs It was funny because alot of people in the audience didnt know who they were! LOL!

  • I'm 18 and love old school hip hop...my dad always played this around me and i knw the whole song!!!!!!

  • Lol, I know the whole Song D:

Have it the whole day in my head.

  • One of the best songs of all time.

  • @hooliiisdewayne duran

  • This proves cursing and bitches and all that shit dont matter.....pure rap at heart right here

  • just chalk it up...they dont make things like they use to...cars, music, television shows, people and etc... life in the 21st century is facebook, twitter, tablets and computers

  • @greg, thats because blacks are better, suck a black cox, shit bag, HAHHAHAHA

  • I would FUCK the shit outta the girl behind hank at 1:21 and go ALL NIIIGHT but... i wish i was there when this was live, real rhyms, and when blacks thought of themselves as equal to whites, but now they think they're better lol

  • @gregstiles21 @gregstiles21 Blacks thinking of them selves as EQUAL to whites is a result of Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome

When Blacks were Building Pyramids and Bringing things into existence such as Math and Writing and agriculture and Medicine in 2500 bc ..There is not one record on this Planet that white people could even speak or write .in that time period the first record of whites being able to write isnt until 900bc.Those 2 things are NOT equal by any form of Mathamatics

    Peace

  • The media is often wrong, and why they play today's gross rap is obvious : coz they love making money, just like those brainless rappers showing all their shining jewels, so-called hype clothes, ridiculously tuned cars and siliconed hoes... everything about appearances.

Anyway, medias play a lot of shit nowadays, from rap to RnB, from teen pop to commercial electro. No surprises some never ever listen to radio nor watch such pityful channels as MTV or MCM.

Today's star world is lotta garbage.

  • I love this song!

  • Im 17, and I envy the fuck out of the people who lived throught this period of time.

Now all I am stuck with is music about hoes, sluts, bitches and rappers constantly telling me that ill never have as much money as them. How unfortunate this generation is.

  • @ZamoraDZamora Ah, when music used to be about creativity, reaching out to people, and (in 2pac's era) coming back up after some fake ass niggas shot you 5 times.

  • @ZamoraDZamora You're clearly not listening to good hip-hop then. Sure, there's tonnes of shitty rap out there about "bitches, hoes, and money." But do yourself a favour, find a good artist and give him a listen to hip hop with a real meaning. Here I'll even start you off with a list:

    Kendrick Lamar

    J. Cole

    Big K.R.I.T.

    MURS

    Immortal Technique

  • @ZamoraDZamora In about 20 years we will be watching buildings be made out of carbon nano tubes and assemblers the size of two molecules. We will live for over a hundred years with medical advances in longevity and gene therapy as well as cell restoration. I can always listen to the old music. Don't let music define our generation.

  • @ZamoraDZamora Well said.

  • @ZamoraDZamora That's not necessarily true. You just find a lot of that in mainstream rap. There's plenty of "good" artists.

  • Ms. Sylvia Robinson think you for what you have done for us hiphop fan and artists as well

  • scrubs :3 hust because of this i search this xD

  • I'm 15, i so wanna go back in time to music like this, it would be fucking great!

  • @WASSOOPRIOR YUP I Just Wanna Stop What I'm Doin And Shake My Body

  • this is the funkiest thing i have ever heard

  • i heard this song today on the radio in my car, i got pulled over by the cops and they gave me a ticket for not listening too loud

  • The Best Days ..... May we all remember the good times and Thank Sylvia for the best songs and her talent !!! R.I.P. Miss Sylvia ....U will be missed on this earth ! :( XOXOXXOXOXXO

  • Good Music, Good Performance, AWESOME RAP HIT..!

  • Classiccc.....

  • This is when rap was good....90s killed it for me...although many suburban white kids loved it.

  • @Superfluential in 90s there was tupac, notorious BIG, wu tang clan, nas, redman, easy e (solo), ice cube (solo), krs one and more... each one of these individuals had massages to give to the people... 90s didnt kill hip hop, it elevated it...

  • @Stratos311

Yeah but in the 90s everyone said that the West Coast killed hip hop.

Kinda like today, where everybody says the South killed it.

  • @MeAgainstTheRadio LOL Its completely TRUE!!! Its the same old story, with a new star. ;P

  • @MeAgainstTheRadio No , it was the corporations that killed it marketing trash that sells as opposed to true music. It wasn't any side. It just so happens that the rap today sells well and is very easily marketable to teenagers, so they took the concept and marketed it to the masses. It's pretty disgusting because it glorifies reusing music over and over as opposed to exploring music, but that's a different topic entirely.

  • @Stratos311 I agree with superfluential, 90's marked the end of good rap

  • hip hop been gay so we cant blame lil wayne

  • If Bill Cosby rapped I like to think it would be like this.

  • Thumb Up For Everybody Here because watching SCrubs

  • This is proper rap, You dont need to sing about guns and hookers and swear to make an awesome song.

  • @TBlenx1995 but this songs about hookers, its the exact same subject as the ludicrous song "hotel motel"

  • @TBlenx1995 to be fair not all rapper do this, just the main stream shit that gets spunked out eveywhere. Listen to Immortal Technique, Esham, Lowkey, nothing bad about women or guns, infact its got some but in a different content, give them a listen :)

  • I like how he raps about being polite at a meal even though the food is bad.

  • why does people say this is rap, its the first HIPHOP song, not rap

  • This was the song that brought modern Rap to the masses and has now been an American staple for over 31yrs and has only gotten bigger. They were the trailblazers and Icons of modern Rap for they gave the world a new form of music the spoken word to music....like the Black Poets of the 70's the original rappers who rap to music w/social messaging and prose. They and the Sugarhill Gang belong in he Hall of Fame for the form of music they created the masses now enjoy.
