you poll hard to get the fish up.

and if it snaps out of the fish mouth, the hook and fly up, and hit you in the eye, if your VERY unlucky.

lol 2 of my mates jumped of a jetty (pierin some places) to try and clam a lure someone had lost..first mate grabs it in his right hand and gets hooked through the thumb nuckle under the bone and back out the other side 2nd mate grabs it with the same hand and gets it through his index finger..lol long painful swim back to shore
