  • Isn't this the guy that taught Ronald duncan

  • @bajanninja No.

  • This is a beautiful video. I have practiced all of these techinques under my sensei and I am a 4th kyu. It is very important to learn weapons from the beginning because it helps the progression in taijutsu, finding the centerline, timing and distance. As to Hitohiro Saitos hard technique,, go and see videos of old Saito when he was young. or Ueshiba as young. Pretty solid and hard style there also. Good solid basic technique (kihon) is a good foundation for flowing (nagare) techniques.

  • @itachi123100 There are tons of videos sets he did on Aikido. They will help you to learn. Just Google Iwama Ryu Aikido.

  • @itachi123100 Saito Sensei passed away some years ago.

  • dios..

  • Just read a little of Hanmi, that Aikido has no particular first stance, but you work in a triangular footing. Why?

  • just a beginner so I can't tell you everything but Aikido has 3 basic movements Triangle, Circle, & Square. They all come from weapon movements & Sensie Gaku Homma wrote a book on the subject

  • Because you should be able to do a correct hipwork in all aikido techniques, and be able move fast in every direction. :)

  • I'm beginner in Aikido but he is really good ...

  • Everybody says this master was amazingand he surely looks so, but i find his successor, his son, a bit more "aggressive" in steed of "energetic" has his father clearly was.

  • Yes Ive heard his son uses more strength and less soft than his father, perhaps he will mellow with age.

  • Absolutely one of the very best right there, SAITO SENSEI!!!

  • square one, it depends on dojo but usally from green and above for adults

  • everyone keeps saying that aikido is usseles but i'm just a white belt and i can easily hold my own in batle

and btw this vid is awesome

  • Do you train with bokken when you hawe a white belt? How long does it take to get a bokken or a jo in my hands, if I start from square one?

    Please awnser..../Indianpojen1

  • euh well it really depends of wich session you have , i've used the jo 2 times and the bokken once but wen you wear hakama you're gonna use is a lot more

  • Im reely intrrested in swordmanship... Does it depend on the club you are training in (there are different types of aikido, right), and how long does it take to get "access" to a hakama?8 years, huh?

Is it any other sport when you use bokken (a lot)?

    Thanks for the awswer.......

  • Most aikido dojos use boken early on. For the club i'm in, white belt is defensive for boken and jo. Soon as you get your yellow belt, you can do basic jo and boken practice.

Hakamas can be had within 3-4 years continuous training. but for our club, having a hakama doesn't mean you are "dan" level. it'll take about 6 more years to reach "dan" level.

  • I'm just a begginer in aikido but we use bokken very often. I think it depense of your sensei sometimes just practise sometimes with bokken.

  • really true every sensei h

  • great

  • wonderful!

  • saito shihan 9.dan enbüyük ustalardan kendisi aikidoyu çok güzel sevdirmiş insan böyle ustalar herzaman seyretmek doyulmaz herzaman usatayı seyretmek gerekir herkez birseyler öğrenir böy ustalardan.

  • he has a divine face

  • so calm

  • Very cool. Arrigato Gosaimasu

  • Amazing.. it's nice to see the final stages of O Sensei's work. I really enjoy watching all the different Uchideshi of O Sensei. If you watch them in their chronological order (when they stayed with O Sensei) You can really see how this art we know and love evolved.

    Arrigato Gosaimasu.

  • I'm a student of Sensei Tristão da Cunha, who was Uchideshi at iwama with Hitohiro and Morihiro Saito Sensei. And i can tell, this video is pretty amazing, and show the greatness of this great master and the Aikido the he tought. Thanks for sharing. "Domo Arigato Gozaimashita"

  • Im surprised to see this, he was my teachers teacher many years ago, so iv been told he was a bit of a drill seargent

  • Incredible, thanks for the post.

  • This demo is very inspiring!

  • he is very good, that demo was awesome too

  • Amazing video. You can literally see the calmness and precision in Saito Sensei's movements. Thanks for sharing!!

  • Thanks for your comment. Anyone Lucky to trin under Saito Sensei was very lucky. I Took Ukemi for him for 3 days before and to feel the power of the founders KI is something I can not explain. Peace and Aiki to you, Robert Lara Sensei
