  • "How long is it?"

"Wha--? Oh! The song. Nine and a half minutes."

  • Wow great love this song, I have just downloaded another version which we did with Paul when he was in London, we recorded it in our studio and the singer was Laura Pallas, it was never released as a single (shame) because she sang it so well.

  • First time I saw this video it was at the Body Works in Indy - I was 18 (now 43) I used to have the album ... but lost it in a divorce! Glad to hear Paul Jabara - Love his imprint in the Gay Dance community. God bless and You are Greatly missed!

  • sooo random !! rip paul jabara though

  • This was one of the favorite videos they used to show in it's entirely at [the long defunct] Charlie's West in East Orange NJ.

It's a shame that place was gone. Where else could you have seen the Weather Girls, Madonna, or even Divine for $5 cover ?????

  • So glad to see it again. Thanks for sharing!

  • I nearly lost my breath the first time I heard this in a disco. One of the funniest novelty tunes of the Disco era.

  • OMFG! I have been looking for this for years!

  • can you download this song online?

  • Paul was one of a kind, and a great song writer without peer. Another of Paul's great songs is on you tube, check out "Somethings Missing" by Donna Summer, and Karen Carpenter.

  • Hmm, do you have the link for it? I searched and can't find it.

  • Search as, "Donna Summer, Somethings Missing", and you will find it.

  • I just searched using those terms and all I got was 4 results..none of them being a duet with Karen. Can you just send me the direct link?

  • The cut and paste does not seem to work. Search and find the Donna Summer version, and then scroll down "related videos", it will come up there.

  • i've alwayz loved this video since my clubbin dayz!!!

  • This is such a brilliant piece of work! Paul Jabara was truly talented!

  • So glad I found this video! Thanks for sharing!! What a talented artist he was!

  • fina me gusta.!

  • I'll never forget the Faultline bar in the 80's playing this and ALL the heavy leather guys RAN into the bar from the patio to see this video. LOL What a sight.

  • Thanks for posting this video - what a classic - Please please Warners issue the album on cd with the remixes and video.

  • all the queens at tea dance used to screech when this song/video came on...remember it like it was yesterday...glad i got the complete version on vinyl, tho

  • My life in complete now, I've been searching for this video sinc I saw it on Swedish televison back in the 80's. THANK you for posting this!!! Paul Jabara was and will always be a huge talent!

  • haven't seen this video is near 18 years. tea dance at the marlin beach. i have the album tho. question -- i thought he was "hung like a mule, oh what a tool had he.."

  • would love to know where I can get a copy of this video!

  • Thanks for the 80's flashback! What a great video from a very talented guy!

  • I spent many sun afternoons in my youth under the black titty woman at Lafittes Trash Disco singing along "Hold that Negro" FABULOUS !

  • yeah brought back memories of tea dance at L&F in d.c. in the 80's when i was a kid.

  • What a flashback; Sundays at Sidetrack in Chicago!

  • Great to see this extravaganza again, but it's been censored in places. Here's what I recall:

    1. The note the exec passes to the other exec has "negro -- MTV?" written on it. Maybe the resolution is just too poor here to pick that up?

    2. Right before he/she sings "he ripped off my mumu", the lyric "Hung like a mule, oh what a tool had he!" was replaced with just music.

  • Yeah, I think its just the resolution regarding the notepad, but I didn't know about the deleted lyrics! Are the censored lyrics on the vinyl, just not in the video?

  • Yes, the censored lyrics are on the vinyl. Glad I have it. I was disappointed when I saw they were edited here. Also, taken out was, "He took me hard and fast, I prayed that it would last, for meeeeee!" lol. They do exist in a video somewhere too. Used to play it at my hangout, The Gas Station in Detroit... oh 20 years ago or so!

  • I didn't know him personally, but I had a chance to chat with his sister online a bit...we traded a few emails, and she was a sweetheart. I wish they'd release this stuff on DVD!

  • Absolute classic.........Paul was one of a kind and really missed.

  • Lots of fun..... been years since I've seen that. Brings back great memories !
