looking at the sniper hit detection video, in HD&fullscreen, it looks like the shot may have hit the vehicle he was using for cover, and as such have reduced damage, giving you the hitmarker. doesn't look like a clear-cut example of poor hit detection, unless the penetration box for the truck is slightly bigger that the truck itself
