the complete price (including equipment and driving training program) is roughly around 3500. You only get paid if you are hired by police department before entering or you may also be hired while in the academy.
I happened to go through the Rio Hondo Police Academy and you will not get paid unless you are hired by a police agency.
You could put your self through the academy and make your self a better option for an agency to choose from considering that they will save a lot of money and choosing you over the average Joe.
my professor from cal state la is one of the instructors in this academy.

I was sponsored going thru. Class 101. Graduated 2/91. Pay your way thru, it's worth it.
