Ah Junebug! Awesome movie, the red headed girl was one of the most likeable characters in any movie I've ever seen and well acted.

  • This has got to be one of the most pleasing sound to hit one's eardrum.. Beautiful song & voice.

  • Well I haven't heard this one for around 35 years!

  • I generally don't like music that have this sort of sound, but for some reason, I couldn't stop listening. I had to finish hearing it and I think it's because of Syreeta's voice.

  • I wish you could get this on iTunes

  • beautiful voice! i remembered tis song when i was very young!

  • This vid is included on one of the TopPop dvd's.

  • The music is Distinctly African and tribal in style

  • Another thing, I'm wondering is why wasn't this woman more famous?

  • How does she sing that high?. Unlike Minnie, the octave is way high all throughout, not just in spots.

  • 3 ppl were high when watching this vid and missed the like button....thanks for posting this truley uplifting song

  • Thank you for posting this. She deserved more fame and fortune.

  • Heard it in Junebug :) Amy Adams is an unbelievable actress

  • I love Stevie Wonder and I knew some of Syreeta's work - but I really have to thank Amy Adams and her love of Meerkats in Junebag for making me adore this song, with a song so obscure, it's hard to imagine there was promo footage and yet here it is, on youtube - amazing and awesome

  • i'm watching Junebug after this

  • I love Embeth Davidtz and this song

  • I heard this in Junebug...a weird yet very awesome movie. This song fits so well with Ashley's happy-go-lucky personality. :)

  • Wow! No trick effects, fast-cutting...just a beautiful singer with a beautiful voice and a beautiful song and you can see the joy on her face, and hear it in her voice, and she is soooo animated. Why can't we have promos like this today?

  • really love this song, thx for posting

  • 3'24 of pure sunshine. 35 years just vanish when I hear this song!

  • Leuk!

  • Did you know Stevie Wonder was on backing vocals (her husmand at the time)

  • In Holland it was a hit in augustus 1975

  • cute song

  • Heard this song at the end of Junebug

    Fantastic song!

  • one of all my alltime favourites. they played it here on german radio regularly, but i didn't know the song's name or the singer....and even after i had become a big syreeta fan, i didn't realize it was actually HER singing this!

    thank you for posting!

  • Syreeta looks absolutely beautiful in this video! While watching it, a sense of sadness creeps over me knowing that someone this talented & spirited departed this world at such a relatively young age. This song, "Harmour Love", is yet ANOTHER slice of brilliance from the mind of Stevie Wonder, and I've ALWAYS loved it! Stevie appears to have a "masters" degree in creating spiritually uplifting music, and there's no finer example than "Harmour Love". Quite simply, it makes you feel good!

  • Stevie Wonder sure does have a tremendous taste in women.

  • I was familiar with her music to a limited degree because she didnt get much air time even in Motown. Was she a secretary at Motown at one time and was she Stevie Wonders wife? Such an angel... her eyes reflect her tender and sweet soul in this video... RIP Syreeta

  • @aliquippawill It is a beautiful song, beautiful most of all because it celebrates the triumph of Jesus Christ over the myriad enemies of America - the Idea of Freedom objectified in the otherwise pointless and chaotic movement of History, as it were. So, let us all celebrate the memory of the Risen Savior with Harmous Love!

  • @aliquippawill i wonder how many children she had with stevie

  • @cannoir None!

  • @aliquippawill Not just that, besides she sadly departing at an early age, she does not seem to have more credit than she deserves. While some try to display some sort of exagerated virtuosity by running some notes here and there or even screamming, she like many women at that time didn't need to do much to catch your soul. She just sang and the message was sent. Stevie and Syreeta was, indeed, a great pair.

  • This would be a perfect song to use for the end credits of a really depressing movie.

Stick this song at the end of a movie about Pol Pot.

  • Junebug (2005)

  • She sounds like Coko from SWV.

  • @70sbaby80schild321 Wouldn't it be nice if Coco covered this?

  • I have been looking for her music, but

was spelling her name wrong ! Anybody

have "I wanna be by your side"? If so,

please post it !!!!!! RIP Syreeta

  • NO IDEA A VIDEO FOR THIS EXISTED!!! Good find!

  • The most underrated vocalist of all tiime.

Listen to 'Cause We've Ended as Lovers'. The song that marked the end of her marriage to Stevie Wonder. She was a beautiful woman and lyricist, her words were heard at Michael Jacksons memorial when sStevie sang, 'I Never Dreamed You'd Leave In Summer' .. Syreeta's lyrics. also check out 'Blame It On The Sun' lyrics

  • very pretty lady with a pretty voice

  • i was 11 when this song came out good music

  • Syreeta will always be one of my favorite singers. I always felt she was under appreciated in the United States but she was indeed unique.

  • Good song, such a happy song

  • I thank you for posting this video. I was named after this great lady but I never heard her music. However, I was always and still am a huge Stevie Wonder fan so it was great to have that connection. God bless her and her family.

  • Please don't anyone hold it against me that I waited so long to find out more about Ms. Wright but I'm only 29-years old... I did not know better:) So as a small tribute to her, I have added this video to my Facebook page. Thank you, Ms Wright.

  • Wow....that's cool! Yes, she has made a lot of classic songs. Her version of The Beetles "She's Leaving Home." Beautiful...especially with Stevie doing background vocals...

  • A MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!

  • this takes me back to my childhood. it's just amazing the wonders of youtube.

  • Very CUTE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you for the love for my mother.

  • Your mom was a beautiful writer and songstress. I love (and finally found on CD) her One to One CD. What a masterpiece!!!

    God bless Rita/Syreeta Wright!

  • Wow! Thanks so much for posting this Syreeta gem! I have so few video memories of Syreeta. There are pictures, yes, but videos of her singing and doing her thing are so rare. Always loved this song, and just watching her was magical. She was so lovely... as the song I Want To Be By Your Side described, she indeed did possess a 'sad, but lovely face.' For a little while as I watched this performance, she was alive again.

    Thanks!

Love you, Syreeta! Always did. Always will.

  • I Love this song soooo much, i think i can hear Stevie Wonder's voice in the backing vocals (chorus)- I can't stop listening to it.

  • This vid is included on a dvd I have (TopPop)

  • It's so beautiful! Can't stop listening to this!

  • Have been looking for this song forever end ever......

    THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

    Gunn from Norway

  • This is absolutely PRECIOUS!!! Syreeta was beautiful, extremely talented, and, I might add, quite underrated as a truly fine Female vocalist. This is one of my all-time favorite "feel-good" songs, and I'm proud to say that I STILL possess the 12 inch LP. that this song was a part of. Syreetas' work with Stevie truly stands the test of time.

  • its used as the intro and outro music on a film called "Junebug" I found it infectious and now I WANT IT ! *L*

  • I really want to find this song that Seerata does, the title i sdo not know, but some of it contents says:"In my heaven here on earth i've found my paradise, happiness is knowing u r mine one more time...." R their any youtube video out tyhere with her perfoming this song? Anyone?

  • the song is called "Happiness" and is from her first album: "Syreeta"

  • To gillisgrant...you are mistaken, this song is from her third album "One To One" and the song is called "Harmour Love". Just straightening it out. Peace.

  • Kiandesworld: My comment was a reply to vcr18 (whose comment is right above mine), who posted lyrics to the song "Happiness". That song is from Syreeta's first album. I am clearly aware that the video posted on this page is that of "Harmour Love".

  • Sorry, my bad. Good looking out though. Peace.

  • I havent heard this for years, its a great song, thanks for posting it.

  • Many thanks for posting this! i remember seeing Syreeta on the Dinah Shore show. It was before VCR's were around.

  • LOOOOVE Syreeta. RIP

  • What year was this from???? Syreeta was one of Motown's Best performers.

  • 1975

  • @jamu27 this was created in 1975 but wasn't releasd until Jan. 1977.

  • i only became introduced to this song through the film Junebug and was surprised to see that Stevie Wonder was credited with writing credits. it sounds so modern, the type of thing an indie-pop band might sing....

  • haven't heard this in a million years. thx 4 posting

  • thanx for that bit of info. Its nice they remained friends x

  • Stevie Wonder is the backing voice and they

ended up married. How sweet! I love this

song i reminds me of being a teenagerx
