@LostYesterday no he was not. he was handsome many women fell in love with him but you must admit to have him chubby at that period is innacurate, tender scene or not.

@lucyluuuxxxx Well, no I must not admit it, seen as it isn't true. At this period, while not the obese gross figure he is known as, he wasn't the very slim, handsome man he had been in his youth. He was fairly chubby, and certainly not as good looking as he used to be.

@LostYesterday surely as he is still loving towards katherine of aragon in this scene then he is still relatively young. ok i will allow for some chubbiness! he is also not red haired or too tall looking but then again not many actors who decide to take the role do look like that.

He was tender and kind to her for a long time before the annullement. So much so that Hernry managed to keep the fact he was seeking a divorce secret from her for quite a while, before she find out (before he offically told her). :)

he did that because he didn't want her involved when she did find out she was very troublesome for him. He knew she would defend herself brilliantly and also she had her nephew as an ally.
