  • mind boggling perfection

  • WOW...

  • The King Sisters first sang this song on film in the 1946 movie "Cuban Pete." Thanks for posting.

  • Absolutely magnificent. Smooth and by far, the most attractive of all the 40's and 50's female vocal groups. Mesmerizing.. I had to listen again and again and again..

  • @TheSwingShift In wholehearted agreement, Randall. This is a true pearl of jazz harmony--beautifully arranged, recorded, and filmed! Yours, Bryan

  • Sadly, Yvonne died Sunday December 13, 2009 at age 89 in a hospital in Santa Barbara, CA. She was married at the time of this video to Buddy Cole and they had a daughter Tracy Cole who became an actress (My Three Sons). Sister Luise was at this time married to Alvino Rey.

  • Buddy and Yvonne's daughter was Tina Cole. On one of Buddy Cole's last albums "Modern Pipe Organ", there is a song ("Tina") written by Buddy dedicated to her.

  • Dana, this is so friggin fabulous, thanks so much for posting. Rene Reyes, who manages some of the Kings affairs is getting Yvonne to sign a couple things for me on the 20th of Dec. @ a NY event and I just could not be more thrilled about it.

  • Actually, Bill Driggs was one of their brothers...

    Thanks for the comments!

  • You are correct about Bill Driggs being their brother. Anoectangium is also right about this song, as well as the King Sisters' work at Capitol being their pinnacle. Of their four albums, "Baby They're Singing Our Song" is my favorite, and one of my favorite records of all time. This film of "Dreamers' Lullaby" is certainly a gem. Thank you for posting it!

  • The Four King Sisters are my favourite vocal group of all time. Their work on Capitol records is without doubt the pinnacle. The precision of the combined voices was perfect The music to this song is identical to their record "Autumn time in Pleasant Grove" (1958) by Bill Driggs their father. The other side of the single was "The guy in the foreign sports car" Lets have more videos of Louise, Alyce, Yvonne and Marilyn. Many, many thanks for posting.
