I also chat to my tortoise, had him ten years now. Funny bit is I know that all reptiles are profoundly deaf ( yep, that little known fact surprised me also) However, I would have to be totally heartless if me & little Turbo did'nt exchange pleasantries when giving him his carefully prepared fresh salad & calcium crunch dinners. Gotta love em, supercute. ps: mind the table edge, superglue doesnt mend busted shells & she's gonna get surprisingly quick. She is a sweetie alright.

@GoKoopa water turtles on the other hand, are not scared of heights because in their natural environments, imagine some place like the evrglades, if they fall from a rock or a tree root, there would be water down there all the time... but when you have one as a pet... mine fell from a first floor balcony to the street after escaping her habitat when enjoying the sunbeams... she didn't stretch out of her shell in two days, she had this fear face. But she lived 7 more years or so with intact shell
