man, does he ever look and sound like his daddy! so glad to see him and big bill pave their own way instead of riding their daddy's coat tails! they're both great artists in their own right and we're lucky to have 'em!
i dont know what they talkin about little muddy sound better that most modern blues guys maybe some people are feelin some envy because they wish to be one of muddys sons too
don't worry about what this Mr. Davis is saying, because you are on top of your game (all of you) and I really enjoy. For it to be 2010 and to watch this video it is amazing, because it is as if we traveled back to 1955 because the feeling is TRUE TO HEART!
A joy to "discover" you, Mud! Maybe there will be a way to bring you for a tour in Israel. Bought a 45 RPM record of your dad's "Tiger In Your Tank" back in 1964, and have been a fan ever since. Glad to hear your voice echo in the present. Blessings!
it aint a contest willie davis...it's a feeling..how long will it take for blues fans to understand that. i'll have to add that to my book of dumb comments. why not just sit back and enjoy the music?
Oh Man, this is wonderful !...Muddy Waters soooo deserves to have his family carry on the blues tradition...Mud's got that "singin' from the guts" thing like Muddy had, like Nobody Else !!! Ha ha !!! Thanks for the fabulous post. Keep 'em comming..PeaceLoveBlues....
you are so right mr. jfife00711!! i say,i am sorry to Mr. Davis because my grand daddy taught me better then that.. its just that i feel like all the great blues players should be there to guild the new guys on the block,,! and encourage then, not try to hurt them..these guys look up to the old timer who has been around the blues world forever! i know my grand daddy wouldnt like this!! i am sorry Mr Davis, candy.
I suppose anyone who goes out there and puts it on the line is open to criticism and that's part of it ... as for Mud he pulls it off really well and anyone who has seen him perform knows his heart is in the right place ... his voice is great ... he brings out the best in his musicians ... and has charisma ... people like him ... he writes good songs and he is very cool. So don't worry about a negative comment .. it's no big deal.
I am ashamed that Mr. Willie Davis would make a statement like that. As a young person this is what we call player hating. Mr. Davis has been around a hundred years. Look how he tries to play Tom Holland against Mud Morganfield. I talked to both of these guys recently and they are good friends. Mr. Davis is the kind of guy who probably thought that he was better than Muddy Waters, Howling Wolf, and all the other greats.
I was lucky enough to catch Mud live recently. What a charismatic performer ! Sure, Tom Holland is a skilful player, but a bit too much of a technician. Too many tricks. This was supposed to be a blues session - not a guitar lesson.
I was fortunate to be in Kingston Mines last Sunday for Linsey Alexander and Mud Morganfield turned up and did a couple of 'Dad's' tunes - unbelievable!

I think I'll stick with Mud. Sorry.

Sorry Mud, but Tom Holland is the star of this video. Stick to covers, your original shit is just a copy of other artists.
