Finally, the song is a genre called "Analog Electronica." It's a new genre, created by Derek Vincent Smith of Pretty Lights. As far as technicality goes, THIS PARTICULAR SONG qualifies as dubstep. Most or all of his other stuff is Electronica. Techno = Deadmau5, not PL. gtfo.

Pretty Lights does do all types of electronic music from dubstep, funk, breaks, and simle chill-out music and a lot of the songs blend musical types. He has done 100 BPM and slower dubstep tracks and even non dubstep songs have a "drop" (This is actually an inherited trait from DnB music). This song is very much like dubstep, however according to Beatport it is a Glitch Hop track. I would say it is a fusion of multiple genres. Primarily Glitch Hop and Dubstep.

I remember watching a video with Rusko like 5 years ago when he was explaining how to make a dubstep video - he categorised anything where the bassline was the main component of the song, so the bit you listened to, as dubstep. If it's melody driven and electronic, then it's not dubstep. If it's bass driven, it's dubstep or a subgenre or a combining of two. Seemed simple then and still works for me..
