@SidnahMuhammad Perhaps so in the views of other cultures, but you need to understand it from their point of view. Say for example if you lost a war, you knew you and your clan would be wiped out. why give them the satisfaction of humiliating you further.
@SidnahMuhammad i understand why u said that commiting suicide is cowardly becuz im also a muslim...but samurai are not muslims...2 them killing themselves is more honourable than surrendering...its juz like us muslims when we fight in a war...when we muslims fight, we would fight till the death rather than surrendering becoz of God's promise 2 place us in heaven
@Neither21 of course samurai are..theyre more honourable than european knights...muslim warriors are also like dat...we dont surrender but we dont comit suicide....we juz merely fight to the death....surrendering is allowed but only 2 trick the enemy...not to save our lives :)
@MrJubijubidoo Yes, it is. I think in the same way as you about the Samuraís. I don´t know much about the muslim warrios. So, can you recommend me a good book of their history or ideaology? I mean, over wich line they fight or fought in the presente or in the past.
@MrJubijubidoo Your comment get my attention: I thinked that muslims -now I know I was wrong- can´t understand other ways of life (cos the samurai, for example, were buddhist and they commited suicide) but now I see that you can understand the differences between another culture and yours. I think this is a great step to conciliate differents point of view about the same theme, and a great opportunity to understand the others and respect them. Grettings from Mexico, my friend.
@Neither21 greetings..if u want a good book about muslim warriors u can juz check in wikipedia...some notable figures are umar ibn al khattab & ali ibn abi talib..if u want to learn about a famous malay muslim warrior(im malay) read about Hang Tuah...actually islam teaches us to respect other cultures but some of us were too fanatik & eventually became 'anti-non muslim'...im from malaysia BTW :)
@MrJubijubidoo Great! I´m gonna get some info or books about the warriors that you said. The modern vision of your religion is fantastic, because, even if you´re ready to give your life for the cause, this means that we can try figure out any problem through pacific ways. For now, you know that in Mexico we live some sort of war against the drug cartels, so, I believe that we must take new risks and dangers, because if we not, then we don´t gonna have peace for the rest of our lifes...
@Neither21 u know ive been wondering....during the third crusade king richard respected salahudin as a honourable man who fights for his religion which in return saladin respected richard by giving fresh water and fruit to richard when he fell ill....richard was respected by the muslim population and saladin was potrayed as a great and honourable man in european manuscipts...it makes me wonder why is there so much hate between our religions today
@MrJubijubidoo People exploit their respective faith for power. People are incredibly easy to convince if they don't use critical thinking. It's not so much the hate between religion but hatred between two different cultures, particularly caused by the US's constant interference with countries like Iran etc.
at 14:30, If you look straight into Mototada's eyes, listen to the music, and see why nobody has cut his head off yet, you can tell what was going to happen next
Somehow I feel winning battles through your mind, scheming and basically controlling everybody like a puppet, is way more badass than winning battles through slaughter.
12:14 I`d be like this guy. This would be the worse point of any battle. Knowing your army is defeated and that you`re going to die. No way around it. I`d still fight, but I`d still be scared.
They took suicide for many reasons but some where, my enemy didnt manage to kill me. also, I refuse to get captured, which is a risk you get if you charge into many men, you might get cut in the leg or arm and drop the sword. to be captured and lose your blad was even more of a shame.
@quezcatol The Idea is that you wouldnt shame your lord with your death isn't it? But at the same time not shaming him in surrender, its a pretty strict system but I suppose it depends on your lord doesn't it?

(What i learned from this video)
Mitsunari attempted to murder Ieyasu, but was forced to exile, another brilliant plan done
He also occupied the Taiko's seat, and ousted two more Regents
He got married to the daughters of some of his enemies (I think)
Ieyasu cleverly planned with the young boy's cousin to unite Japan and bring down the rebels
If I ever want to die, its with Bushido

True, they still killed him in a way, by giving him no option but to commit suicide.

I would probably chose a death chrage too..at least i felt it is more honorable...still you can take down enemies with with before you die

That suicide thing was messed up, rather would have just charged and died..
JFCPantheras 1 year ago
@JFCPantheras There is a certain satisfaction in denying the enemies the chance to kill you, or a possibility of capture.
