  • I can't tell if she's faking, but if not, this is really moving. I'm really impressed. She's a very unassuming artist

  • This is the most beautiful I've ever heard her. And the fact that she is crying makes it much more beautiful

  • People act like she cant actually sing since she does pop music and does a lot of auto tune in her popular music but ya know what? that's what was and is popular right now. If you listen to some of her songs on her album or other songs that werent released as singles you would know this. There are a lot of songs that she has that have deep meanings to them rather than her popular stuff like Tik Tok. Do some research before you go on with blasting an artist.

  • This is actually really intense

  • @icefire65, u STF up!! Ke$ha is really awesome if u can't see that don't even say anything!!!! Nobody wants 2 hear wat u have 2 say!!! and for ur Info a lot of people like her!!!

  • @Millow555 Oh, god. Please speak English.

  • Oh, no fucking way. This piece of shit 'artist' is really disrespecting Bob Dylan? No wonder why nobody likes her.

  • @icefire65 if you can't see why her record managers are succumbing her to do what she does, then you have no fucking right no comment on her amazing talent that's truly hidden from all the media just waiting to be exploited.

  • @Idontusemyusername What amazing talent? Music died years ago. Kesha isn't going to make it better by making crappy covers of good songs.

  • @icefire65 Disrespecting?

  • @icefire65 disrespecting? she was asked to do this. And this is very good and deep. Watch what you say.

  • @pkt1tripe Umm...I kno that maybe most of her songs may lack the depth she displayed here, but listen to her albums a bit more....some songs might surprise you

  • shame is overated, like kesha.

  • i usually dont like kesha but this cover is great and to all of those wondering why she is crying or even want to know why the audio isnt as good is because she did this through I-band on her own Mac at home and got emotional and started crying. And she went to the studio and tried recording it again, it wasnt with as much heart as she had performed the first one, so they put this one on the album.

  • At first, like most, I was like "That's Kesha!?"

But then I realized something. Is this what modern pop singers have to do to have any kind of depth? Cover someone else's song? I've got nothing against the concept of covering itself, but if YOUR songs have no soul, no character, no real strength, why should any cover, no matter how good, be praised the way it is?

  • I would like to know what people don't like about this. Don't like her usual music and they way she's marketed? Blame that on her label, and the way she is marketed. in my opinion, there were much worse covers than Kesha's on the Album. This shows emotion, she's in key, and it's raw. Great Job Kesha!!

  • If someone heard this not knowing that Ke$ha is singing, they would fall in love. Great job here.

  • oh come on people, it really isnt to bad. we're just used to her voice with all the autotune and crap.

  • I've always known Ke$ha had a voice. And now she fucking cries and still out sings me a hundred percent. Ke$ha, as a big fan of yours, you still have so many layers I have to uncover. I love that about Ke$ha. Shes not only an artist but has a human side to her and that I enjoy.

  • ew she has the WORST voice ever. WHYYYYYY would they choose her? for real. i mean cmon she SUCKSSSSSSS

  • hate that i can't find the original on here but this bollocks comes up in seconds

  • why is she crying and why are her words indecipherable and inarticulate? the narrator is extremely sarcastic and proud, not a regretful fatalist, who makes it clear that things could have been better, but that that wouldn't have changed anything. moreover, bob's recording of guitar and vocals captures the solitude, whereas her's requires accompaniment (oboe and viola, computer generated nevertheless). its not a melancholic song: its an unbiased reflection. kesha greatly misinterpreted this.

  • @fogableck

Songs can be reinterpreted. The original still remains.

  • KESHA DID A PHENOMENAL FUCKIN' JOB!!!!!!!! -JB

  • Follow me on twitter kesha fans^_^ @missXshady

  • It hurts me to what some of you people are saying... Really. Like wow. Leave her alone this cover is amazing. Cant beleive All the haters who say she trashed bob dylans name n shit like that. And love to all of the animals who love kesha regardless of her music. Im a huge kesha fan and saw her live. All you need to stop being so fucking cruel..-:| it makes me wanna cry of what you people say

  • just cuz shes covering bob dylan doesnt make the cover automatically amazing. i think she did a horrible job. she oversings it and slows it down. the music is barely audible and still extremely bland and simple. imo she fucking sucked

  • better then her usual stuff but still she's lost all the rhythm here and she's nowhere near the greatness of the original; I love the minimalistic cello in the background though

  • ke$ha is trash, don't ever touch a real musicians song.

  • This is fucking amazing, better then any up beat song she has and i'm a HUGE fan of Ke$ha. Seeing some of these comments actually hurts that you would even say that. If this were me, I'd sound HORRIBLE, I wish I sounded this fucking amazing when I cry and sing. I love you Ke$ha, haters gonna hate but WE R WHO WE R <3

  • Dear Ke$ha,

I didn't really used to like your music much. I mean it had a good beat and lyrics were funny ( also, kinda shallow) and auto-tune pisses me off.. BUT, this single handedly changed my mind about you. This is so raw and beautiful. Thank you.

    Love,

    Jeanne xoxo

  • I can't with people hatting on this just because it is Ke$ha who is singing. Her voice is so heartfelt and beautiful. I broke my heart hearing her sniffling back her tears.

    I LOVE YOU KESHA. <3

  • Comment removed

  • That was awful... COMPLETELY AWFUL.

  • This sounds like Florence + the Machine, so I don't understand why people are hating on Ke$ha for sounding like someone who everyone pretty much loves for sounding like this...

  • Way to stomp all over a classic, Kesha. You ruined this song.

  • Man does Ke$ha have a good voice or what? This is an amazing cover. If only she made songs like this. She sounds REALLY amazing singing slow songs.

  • i cant believe i just heard this.. i'm not sure what to do right now.. but i do want to talk to kesha, and possibly give her a hug and pposssiblly ask her to marry me haha

  • wow this is really heartfelt and beautiful:-)

  • 124 people HAVE FUCKING BRAINS

  • @kingsofcarnage 225 people have fucking hearts.

  • She's singing a breakup song like there's tears in her eyes.

This is the first time I've heard her sing like this.

    So?

  • I'm sorry I don't see what people like in this song. Just because someone is putting "emotion" into a piece doesn't make it good. She was trying to show people how well she could sing without the help of autotune and I think she failed epically at it. I recommend the Dylan version over this one any day of the week.

  • @2012jsanders The point of this cover wasn't to show who did it better. Or for Ke$ha to prove anything. She did it as a tribute. Exactly as the tittle says. And she didn't fail anything. She did a ten times better job than any other pop artist could do lol.

  • @MooTelevision Hey Moo! long time no see, anyways hell yeah i agree.

  • @2012jsanders i agree with @MooTelevision. it's not who did it better. it's a tribute for an album of good cause. and as @kmmrjr said...it may not be to everyones expectations but Ke$ha really understood the message and the emotion Dylan had between the lines. and that's what makes it great in my opinion

  • I had no clue she could sing like this. It's kinda nice.

  • this is beautiful..... I was holding back tears just listening to it

  • Totally destroys the song. Fuck these shitty modern pop idols.

  • is kesha singing? really?

  • why doesn't she have more music like this? this is so much better than the usual shit she does!

  • Ke$ha is probably one of the most misunderstood artists today.

  • this is amazing, Ke$ha you can do anything. your animal babe(:

  • Not bad, even worst

  • I guess it's a matter of opinion as to whether Kesha was crying. That's not the point. The point is, for a brief few minutes, another person, in my opinion, connected with what Dylan was saying. That's all that matters.

  • this is beautiful....the strong emotion makes it that much better. ♥

  • her voice is funky because stupids

  • everyone going on about her being a drunk, clearly if she really was she wouldn't be able to record and perform, it's part of her image the same as lady gaga with the outfits, it's part of the performance. This is a beautiful cover and you can't deny she has a wonderful voice just because you don't like her or her music. Please get your head out of your arse and open yourself up to other music and talents.

  • this isn't supposed to be good because of her singing, it's her emotion and the fact that she has to hold back tears to sing this. many people think because her voice is "bad" that this tribute must be as well, but it is touching and beautiful because of the mood she sets with her layers of depression that stream out as she sings this.

  • This sucks

  • I can't believe people like Ke$ha who are products of the music industry not actual artists are singing some of the best written material ever created in the 20th century. This is just a slap in the face to Bob Dylan.

  • @mcgr00b3r

In fact, your comment is a slap in the face of people who love and appreciate music they deem good regardless of what genre it is or what artist recorded it and performs it, and a worse slap in the face yet to those people who have a positive, relaxed outlook on life and choose not to leave hateful, insulting comments on videos of music they don't like out of respect for those who do.

You are pathetic, and I'd honestly pity your kind if you weren't so rude. Hate on.

  • I don't hate her because she's a pop singer. I don't like her because she sounds drunk when she sings. However, this is a surpringly good cover of a bob dylan classic

  • To me, this is better than the original, even with the quality/crying, that just shows how raw the vocals are

  • Love this! Real emotions, the original is of corse better!

  • She sounds like she's had one too many whiskeys. This is crap compared to the original

  • After 1:30 i was still completely uninterested

  • for some reason, i really like this...

  • this is disliked so much cuz it's ke$ha (unfortunatly), if it was by a respected indie artist it would have 0 dislikes, some people really fuck me off.

  • @BJNewMusic couldnt av put it better myself if people didn't know it was ke$ha they would all be saying how amazing it is.

  • Everything i thought i new baout kesha has changed. this is good!

  • I like her emotional take on this song, very touching.

  • Comment removed

  • ohh so thats waht she sounds with out 100lbs of auto tune of herface and voice

  • @z0v3kdaman actually, she sounds better when she's not crying

  • I can't even understand her.

  • I was listening to Bob Dylan before this Album originally came out when I was in my late teens, I just want to add my comment that although Kesha ia an extremely young woman, in my opinion she TOTALLY UNDERSTOOD DYLAN. Granted she changed some words and such. She has a grasp of Dylan that many older people still don't. She is singing the song and sniffling back tears. No greater tribute can be said of "don't Think twice, It's Alright"

  • @kmmrjr Well said. Agree with you 100%

  • @kmmrjr She isn't sniffing back tears.

  • @fghjklkoijhu Well technically, she is crying/sniffling

  • @kmmrjr exactly this cover is fucking amazing somehow

  • kinda sounds like she's trying to imitate Bjork, but i like it.

  • she sounds amazingly good i mean its not wow buut it some wat iz this iz real music 2 were some1 cry's thts getting in a song thts passion something kesha just showed she sound awsome if she wasent crying she would have sond unbeliabley amazing love uuu kesha K$

  • Frankly what pisses me off about Kesha is that she has SOME legitimate talent but she is ok with doing mediocrity. makes me derp rage

  • I know she is trying to put "emotion" into the song, but she ruined the song. First of all, she way, WAY, WAAAYY, overdid it. Second, the song is about a person who is eager to leave and relieved to be doing so.. so they won't be crying.

  • @planeguy141 She wasn't trying to cry, she got upset while singing. Also to her it has a totally different meaning.

  • @planeguy141 i don't like ke$ha, but maybe the words mean something different to her? people interpret songs in totally different ways. maybe it's not hopeful to her, but sad.

  • She could have done better, but I can tell she was probably crying so that is the reason for the voice

  • Terrible. Just awful. Although she could have done a lot lot worse. You can say what you want about her and Dylan but at the end of the day listen to a slightly talented girl sing her way through a song just isn't a good listen surely? Not for me anyway.

  • not bad... she should sing like this more often

  • I kind of wish they hadn't added the echo to it. It would have probably been much better without that.

  • Seriously this haters need to FUCK themselves!! I love her real voice ♥

  • Wow this is truly awful....just awful.....

  • I don't really believe in covers, as such, but this was particularly impressive. I don't know why people are criticising her voice - we all know REAL music has nothing to do with vocals - I think this is a really good effort. She said that she sees this song as a suicide note to her former self - you can't throw something someone believes in.

  • Worse than terrible...

  • This is terrible. This song isn't supposed to be whiny. It's supposed to be bitter and dismissive. Dylan's version is like "You want to leave? Whatever, have a nice life bitch." This one is like "You never responded to my facebook relationship request. Boo hoo hoo."

  • @wdm2112

took the words right out of my mouth

  • @wdm2112 IF i could like this 100 times over, i would.

  • @wdm2112 your comment, that is...

  • It doesnt rlli sound like her cus shes weeping in it u can here lol but uhhh

  • she can't sing a note, although neither can dylan so it's all good. come back when you can write as well as him though love :P still tis a good cover i won't let my hatred of her music cloud my judgement.

  • She fell into an easily understandable trap : At first glance, you don't need an awesome voice to interpret a Bob Dylan song (Which is great for a girl like Ke$ha) but then as soon as you hear it, you remember one little thing : That it takes Bob Dylan to interpet Bob Dylan.

    Sorry.

  • why people can dislike this? love you kesha.

  • Rooster Teeth

  • Quehermoso canta, me hizo llorar :'c

  • I love how the top two are comments from people who don't wanna shit there pants about a girl who now, because she acts like a whore, has to do something like this to try and not be a whore like every one else. Whore.

  • @amdy985 AMEN.

  • I'll admit its tough to give Keisha any credit. But since Nickelback has sold 10 million copies of every album they've released, despite how many people say they suck, then Keisha can sing a song that isn't necessarily mass produced crap.

  • Starts out kinda rasping but gets better as it goes

  • Roosterteeth <3

  • I never thought I would be in the position of liking Kesha. Hell, my ex-girlfriend used to use her to torture me I hated her music so much. But this song is beautiful. It really is. I can't stand anything else she has done, but this song deserves respect.

  • She's crying idiots

  • Not bad. But her voice is a bit too raspy and nasaly to me. If she drank some tea and blew her nose before she started sing, then it'd be better.

    That's just my opinion. :)

  • @SonicAndTailsRock01 I'm not gonna mad at you or anything lol, cause there's nothing wrong with voicing your opinion, but just so you know she recorded this by herself to practice and it was her first try recording it, the producers decided to use it because of the raw emotion in it(she was crying, which I think explains a lot of the nasalliness and raspiness). I think you may be right, but I also think it's probably because of the crying lol.

  • @SonicAndTailsRock01 You do realize it's a Bob Dylan cover right?

  • @SonicAndTailsRock01 She was sobbing... and this wasn't even recorded with a pro mic.

  • @SonicAndTailsRock01 Maybe it's all that fucking computer alteration. Modern singers can't just sing, no, they have to put their voice through a computer to make it sound really fucking annoying. Damn. This sucks.

  • 300 views.. LOL about 250 from roosterteeth? :D

  • I love this!

Ke$ha needs to stop using autotune!!

She's a fucking natural in singing!!!

  • she's trying way too hard.

thats all i have to say.

  • Sorry this is horrible, the singing is ok but the constant long breaking and loud breathing is annoying, it sounded like she had a cold.

  • I like it!, maybe with more sound it would be better

  • Emotionless and difficult to understand. Just like the real Bob Dylan : )

  • Rooster teeth!

  • this is the best thing i've heard from ke$ha.. who knew she actually had some talent

  • Is it just me, or does she sound better without autotune?

  • im a dylan fan and this cover of one of his songs is terrible and all evidence of it should be burned immediately

  • at first it was good, but by the time she was crying it felt corny and overdone.

ill stick with "dumb and talentless" for describing her

  • @dartvader117 Just because she got emotional (like a real singer would) doesn't mean that she is dumb and talentless. Sorry she's trying to be real.

  • @LikeYourBeard So every singer that doesn't cry on stage is not a real singer?

  • @fenrinstr Tell me exactly when I said that. Exactly.

  • @LikeYourBeard "Just because she got emotional (like a real singer would)"

  • @LikeYourBeard "just because she got emotional (like a real singer would)"...

  • @BerrySwee1 That's not the same thing buddy. He was acting like she was stupid because she started to cry. I was pointing out that a real singer would get emotional to something they felt close to.

  • @LikeYourBeard She's talent-less (exhibited by the amounts of auto tune lodged in her ass), and acts/sings about getting drunk and acting like an obnoxious whore. The less people like her, the better

  • @Celticgammer Just because someone uses autotune doesn't mean that they're talentless. This proves it. Everyone uses it, even Bob Dylan. And you're a fucking retard. Try to know what you're talking about before you comment. Ke$ha only has one song about partying and that's TiK ToK. Stop over exaggerating eveything to make yourself seem right.

Gtfa. The less morons like you on the internet, the better.

  • @LikeYourBeard I love K$ but if anything it seems put on. The opposite of being real.

  • @LikeYourBeard i didnt say the crying was the probelm per se, i love plenty of songs where people have started crying. just that by the time that started it was beginning to drag because shes not that great of a singer and failed keep it interesting (i know it was one unintentional take, i dont care, people are giving too much credit just for it being random)

  • @dartvader117 ok ,so .. Ke$ha is hated when singing with autotune, ke$ha is hated when singing without autotune even having an amazing voice ... I mean what's the problem with her .... SHE'S UNIQUE!!! i don't give a sh*t what pple think about her , only thing it matters that i soo fuckin love her <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

  • @itsleotunes shes unique like every other pop star in that they will be entirely forgotten within 3 years because they're all just passing fads. and her voice is mediocre at best, cracking it because you start to cry does not make it better

  • @dartvader117 It's already been 2 years...She isn't going to just be forgotten in one more year

  • @samistar2234 im not talking about 3 years since the start of her success. im being gracious and giving her up to 3 whole years as of now.

thats a lot longer than i gave justin bieber

  • @LikeYourBeard Let's stick to talentless then

  • @dartvader117 this was taken with one take! She originally didn't want to cry but it happened! It was in a rolling stones documentation

  • @dartvader117 it's funny because she recorded this herself while practicing to do the actual song, but this felt so real and raw to the producers that they chose to use this :P

  • @Apple2Beep i wouldnt give modern pop producers very much credit in the whole "deciding what's good music" department

  • what the fuck

  • Roosterteeth

  • Kill it now.

  • aw yea rooster teeth

  • I've always avoided her music because it seemed fake and grating but here's the voice of a woman whose self-exploitation no doubt extends into her personal relationships. This is a brilliant, sweet, sad song about losing a hurtful relationship and it sounds like she really feels what she's singing. Maybe she's not to your taste as a vocalist or you hate her previous work, or maybe you need more flashy production, but to me she sounds honest and real and that's beautiful.

  • @inahow your comment is very insightful. But the fact is, she didnt write this song, bob dylan did. and she probably just did this because she got tired of everyone calling her a trashy whore, because that is what she was, is, and forever will be. Just because someone puts a little emotion into something, does not mean she is feeling what she is singing, nor does it mean she understands what she is singing.

  • @Greco678 If you weren't one of those pretentious morons who only listens to the crap they put on the radio you might know that Ke$ha had tons of "meaningful" songs. And she wrote them all. Animal, The Harold Song, Blind, Dancing With Tears In My Eyes, True Love, Feels Like Rain, Goodbye, Let Me Go, C U Next Tuesday, Bad Dream, Hallucination, Lucky, This Love, Sunday Morning, While You Were Sleeping, Suicide and plenty more. Do some research buddy.

  • Ben sent me, still sucks though I can't really picture anyone BUT bob dylan

  • It's good.

  • Here's a pro tip: getting drunk and singing a Bob Dylan song with violins in the background doesn't make you deep, it makes you pretentious. Stick to crappy pop songs about getting drunk and partying, lady

  • @killer0095 Here's a pro tip for you: She was never drunk or intoxiced while singing, she wanted to see what it would sound like for her singing it, so she got her laptop and recored it and while singing she became very emotionl and started to cry! When they tried it agian none of the others sounded like this one, so they kept it and put "violins" in the background. She loved Bob Dylan as a child and then getting the chance to sing one of his songs is BIG! Sitck to trashing other singers, kid

  • @MrKeshadaily Honestly tell me that this is cover has better singing and more emotion than the original. Between her cruddy slurring and painfully trying to hit notes, I personally prefer the more triumphant, yet blue tone of the Bob Dylan original. True, she loves Bob Dylan and I can appreciate her taste in inspiration, but just recording herself doing a slowed down, crying version of a Bob Dylan song is not impressive, catchy, or praiseworthy.

  • Sounds like she recorded this with a cold. No thanks.

  • This is a terrible Bob Dylan cover. Just awful. You sound like you have a cold and can't breathe well. That does not sound sexy at all. It sounds horrible and you should just stop it already.

  • @PhoenixWillow81 Singing doesn't have to be "sexy." She sounds that way because she's crying. Do some research before you comment otherwise you'll look like a moron.

  • @MooTelevision well said!

plenty of morons on YouTube though

  • @MooTelevision I'm a professionally trained singer, and my comment still stands. She does not sound even halfway decent when she sings this song. Crying does not explain away the horrible way she attempts to hit the notes.

  • @PhoenixWillow81 She sang this on her laptop. She was never trying to impress anyone. She was just singing it to see how it sounded. And if you think she can't sing then look up he Rolling Stones cover.

  • @MooTelevision Stop trying to come up with reasons to explain her inability to sing well. Just because you're a fan doesn't mean she's super talented. Her singing covers of songs other, much more talented, singers have made famous does not change my point. It would be like me saying that Stephanie Meyer is an amazing author just because she has millions of fans.

  • @PhoenixWillow81 I'm not. I'm trying (and succeeding) to prove you wrong. Just because you don't like her doesn't mean that she's not talented.

It would be like me saying that 'The Hangover' wasn't funny just because a few people didn't like it.

    Exactly.

  • @MooTelevision It's cute that you think you're succeeding in any aspect of life. You can also find your own way of having a debate instead of trying to copy mine, and failing.
