I find it hard to believe this is her at the age pictured on that album cover. It does not seem possible for such strength, precision and confidence to come from such small fingers. Regardless of age, however, it's an exceptional performance.

Bach Toccata?? i have this album (i'm from Argentina) and it says Scarlatti Sonata :S anyway, i love this. she sounds as a child, but as a GENIOUS child !! but still as a child, so cute ^^ love her !!

she was already an adulte in mind when she recorded this. She did not have a childhood as any other childs. she was a genious already when young. The perfection dans le choice of tempi and the perfect control of sound she shows it from the very beginning....

The genious of Martha Argerich continues.... thank God for that.... our world needs people like her!!!!

@uhartchristian have you seen the Evening talks? There she speaks about her childhood... And there you can for example find out, that however it sound amazing, she was just a super robot... Before the performance, she went to the toilet and there she just told herself: „You cannot make a mistake.“ And she didn't. But as she said, there wasn't much feeling... But what would you expect from a 8 year child...
