Yeah, Brawl does suck. The engine's been slowed down, you can't wavedash, you can't L- or Z-cancel. It's just flat-out sucks. I gave it a shot when it came out, and I kind of liked the adventure mode, but it got boring quickly because of how repetitive it was. I still play Melee with my friends nowadays, and I enjoy it more than Brawl, that's for sure.

Yeah, I'm a 100 percent with you on that, but there could be a good sequel sometime, although I've got my doubts. Yeah, I totally agree with you on that one. I really hope they'll change their minds in the future and make consoles that don't have all those annoying controls and stuff. I like idea of the WiiMote and the Nunchuk, but it's poorly executed, and they don't use its features to the limit (so I second the fact that they've grown lazy). I hope they'll make their new console just as simple as a couple of controllers with buttons, and not motions, or touch-screens... >_>

Nintendo drained all my trust and loyalty after releasing Brawl. I don't have any kind of hope about the next Smash installment. I'm happy with the CAPCOM games so far, I don't really believe Nintendo will surprise us again after so many years after the Melee release.

If the motion controllers is the "future", I rather stay with the past, with reliability.

@DynaDash dude the motion controls of now may be average and far from perfect but when motion controlling is completely accurate it will be amazing and really fun to use. Nintendo just carried away with this idea and forgot to use it to its potential. The casual market did that to the other companies as well. Motion plus has a chance as long as they find a way for it read all directions without lag. For now yes motion controls seem lame but they will get better. Don't be so hopeless.

I have reasons to doubt Nintendo, Motion Plus did not fulfill my demands, and certainly, I'd hate a fighter with "motion controllers". In this case, Nintendo might pull-off another lackluster spit-in-the-face and treacherous smash mario party. Fighting games are not made for motion controllers, it's like saying the future of dancing doesn't require for you to actually dance. An unnatural change.

With motion controllers it could work for fighting games but for now motion controls haven't been perfected. Face it. controllers have been improved over the years and the emergence of motion controls will too.

@SlamTheLabel Many things have gone well with improvements and other things, yes, I give you that (also, DDR is pretty much dead now).

But as with fighting games, there is already a BIG settled community which is used and married to the classic arcade sticks and the usual Xbox 360 and PS3 pads which are great, also, I don't think a new Smash Bros. would work great with motion controllers, it would make the gameplay overall slower and less frenetic.

I'll just stay with Melee...

I was open minded until I gave Brawl a one-year chance, I do honestly regret doing so, it was a full year, and the only thing I don't regret, is to have Brawl just to play Project M.

@DynaDash Well, their third party developers suck. But the Zeldas, Marios, and Metroids are still good. But there won't be another game like melee. The advanced techniques in melee were actually just glitches. They were never supposed to happen. They "fixed" the game by removing the glitches for brawl.

@BonJoviFanboy I'm afraid you are wrong, the "glitches" were actually intended, specially WaveDashing, which was a CONSEQUENCE of the physic system, and thus, wouldn't be removed without making severe changes to the actual physics.

L-Cancel was intended, they even added certain lag frames between cancel to cancel to balance things out, because L-Cancel only accelerates the frames, doesn't actually cancel them.

They didn't only remove those consequences from Brawl, they removed EVERYTHING.

Maybe you need to use a new character, I didn't have any issues like that with Samus, I guess I have affinity with the moveset.

The loss of speed is no excuse with Samus, she has virtually no lag landing in any attack, you just need to foresee the opponent's movement.

Practice, you'll get better in no time, get used to it =) Or keep playing Melee.
